Thunderbird - email client (goes w/Firefox)
Sims 2 - awesome video game
Civilization 4 - another awesome video game
Norton Antivirus - (any reputable brand will do for antivirus)
WinZip - compresses/decompresses files
Quicken - good financial management program
Paint Shop Pro - good, inexpensive photo/graphics editor

Depends on what you are doing
Office 2003, Adobe Pro 8, Basic Picture editing tool Like PSP, then from there, if you are doing accounting, you would probably look at the line of Products from INTUIT. After that, it totally depends on what you need to do. If you are an engineer, Some CAD Programmes.... etc

Microsoft Office would be the best. It includes: Excel, Word, and a lot more business applications.
