oh i'm actually giving a baby shower to one of my aunts and i'm planning it with my mom and my cousing and its harder than i thought. if u want to talk about a theam it depends on if is a girl or a boy i have seen that they do Precious Moments or Disney Princess for a girl and for a boy it is usually Disney Cars,Winnie the Pooh or a Sport team. Its better if u do a baby shower out side when the weather is nice and not too sunny (but thats my opinion)and for the games i love to do the dipper game(where you put different candys or any kind of food and people guess what is it is funny the expresions on their faces), guess mom's tummy size also baby bingo is pretty fun also the one i love is blindfold dipering(when two persons are blindfolded and they get a plastic baby and they compete to see who is the one that puts the diper in the baby the fastes and they have to place it right) and for the food finger food are best if u need more information i would suggest a good web site u can go to is: http://www.babyshower101.com/
Hope everything goes well!!!!! GOOD LUCK

My favorite baby shower moment was presents. Seeing all the little clothes and toys made me want my baby even more.

Games-
Baby bottle game-You could take a baby bottle fill it with beans and make every one guess how many beans are in it. Pass it around so they get an idea. Then tell them actually how many are in there! whoever is closeest will win.

Toilett paper game- Take a roll of toilett paper and pass it around to everyone and let them tear off a lenthy piece. The objective is to make the piece long enough to go around the pregnant belly but it has to be egzact no squares going over. No squares shy. If no one is exzact then whoever is closest will win.

Balloon game- first make sure of how many people are gonna be there. Then find out what the soon to be born baby will be named. write it down on a small piece of paper. and put it in a balloon and blow it up. Then take a whole bunch of random names and do the same as well but make sure only ONE balloon has the soon to be born babys name in it.
Then when the guest come in hand them a balloon or let them choose. They have to keep it alive meaning they cant let it pop. your supposed to pretend its a real baby. When the party is about over tell them its time to pop the balloon. Whoever has the babys name in their balloon will win.

Food- mini sandwhiches, and chips and dip will be fine if you are on a cheap budget. And do a caffine free punch! Its better for the baby.

Themes- Find out what the mom is doing for the baby room and stay close to that theme. Because anything you put out or up she can put it in the babys room.

best of luck.

Have the mother to be involved in putting together the guest list to make sure no one that is important to her is left off.

Some of my favorite games are baby bingo (played like bingo but with baby words instead of numbers), Scramble (the first guest that unscrambles the baby related words wins or the one to get the most done in a certain amount of time), and Guess the mother's waistline (you take a roll of tissue or streamer and get everyone to tear off a piece on how far around they think the mother's waistline is the one who is closest wins).

Also, the shower gifts you buy for the guests that win don't have to be extravagant. Go to your nearest Dollar Tree and buy gifts like picture frames, figurines, vases, etc. that are cute and won't hurt your wallet.

The only thing that is tacky is specifically asking for money gifts and forgetting to send off thank you cards after (but that is the mother's job not the host).

Finger foods are fun and easy. And drinks like punch, soda, margaritas and daquiris are fun (remember the mother is pregnant not the guests)

I love traditional baby showers, but some people just can't stand the games.

One shower I went to had a really original idea. After serving the food, anyone who wanted to participate in the games could come back to the main room where the games were being held. Anyone who didn't want to could go outside onto the deck where lemonade, books, chairs, coffee, etc. were all set out. There was also a volleyball net and porch swing.

Since the invitees were around 40 people, it ended up being pretty much split. The women inside vied for prizes while the women outside talked, ate, drank coffee, and hit a volleyball around.

Since many of our friends go to showers for the social aspect as well as to give their best wishes, they really enjoyed it.

(I played the games. Didn't win anything..)

when i have a baby shower mine will be pooh because that's what my child's bedroom theme will be. ask the expecting mom what theme will be the baby's room. they also got like themes for moms that are divas.

my warning is just make sure you keep the mother to be happy because the last baby shower i went to the mother to be left crying and upset because the people she wanted there was not. but my fave baby shower moments is when everybody is laughing and having fun.

you must have finger foods and cake. make sure the drinks cater to everyone (pop, water, juice).

a good game we played @ my aunts baby shower was we put different candy bars on different diapers and melted the chocolate n the microwave and then had everyone write down what they thought the candy bar was and who ever got the most right @ the end one.. It was really fun and we all had fun with it.... by the way they could only smell and look @ the candy bar no eating it or touching it!!!
