lemons could work but you don't have to put the whole lemon in your head( I have seen this done at the community pool and we laughed) just the juice is good. Try putting your hair in a pony tail when you swim or go out in the sun, that also leaves a natural highlight.

Lemon juice and a blowdryer (or intense sun). Also hydrogen peroxide (but if you try to use it on eyebrows or other body hair - beware because it lightens the skin too - you'll be splotchy!)

The BEST thing to do is take ten bucks to the store and get a box of Les Blondissimes in the shade you want. Your hair won't be in as much danger of getting fried. :) Good luck!

Lemons work and a more dangerous way to go is bleach. I haven't used bleach, but I used to highlight my hair with lemon juice.

Lemon juice in the sunshine works well if your hair is already dark blond or light brown. Put it on wet hair and comb through. Stay in the sun until it dries.

well, if you are brunette and you are looking to go for a lighter color then but one of those home makeing kits but don't use the brush thing, do little spighetti strand peices so that it looks much more professionaly (bad spelling) done. But its best to have a friend or someone that has dyed there own hair help you out, when i did it at home i had my sister help me. but remember no big thick strands, just angle hair spaghetti : P

In highschool I've drenched my hair with lemon juice mixed with water and layed out in the sun to lighten my color. I've also used kook-aid. If you just use a kool-aid packet w/out sugar and mix it w/ water, boil it and then dip your hair in it. It will color your hair.

you could try lemon but that takes a while or peroxide and sun but be careful not to leave it in too long or you be sorry.

I have tried to lighten my hair at home and I would recommend buying a professional option at the drug store. They have really dried my hair out.

"Frost and Tip" is the best. To answer your question, some people use peroxide but don't try things around the house..you don't know what will happen.
