I always show up late and more often than not I am the last answerer of a question with 40 responses and I wonder if the questioner reads them all. There are a very high number that I answer and spend far too much time on (like the "you're goin' to HELL" and "gays are an abomination" and, my recent favorite "Since everyone talks so much about God and Jesus, it automatically proves their celestial existence"). Then, of course, there are the questioners who get quite a delight out of talking about hitting their children and search for others to laud them. I cannot stand the fact that it is legal to assault a child (I don't care if it's "just one soft smack over 16 layers of clothing") who is utterly defenseless and yet hitting anyone else is considered assault. I give these people long answers in the hopes that someone else might read my post and think twice before doing it again. It's an issue I don't go two ways about. People who say that the days were so much better back when nearly everyone hit their children never a. lived back then, b. remember the Depression, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, or the horrific asylums even mildly depressed people went to when their symptoms weren't considered "normal". These people were beaten as well. Human compassion never existed there or for them. The advances of psychology didn't need to dictate any normal person's sense of humanity - people should be taught that from the time they are born. Psychology is a way to treat and possibly cure. Compassion is a way to ensure that it doesn't occur in the first place and if it does, help the person afflicted. It tends to drive me up a wall when people who read my responses insist I must have been 'abused severly'. This is simply not the case. I was hit on three or four occasions, that light "one slap" method but I remember each one vividly because of how sad, powerless and mistrusting it made me feel. I think I am very fortunate it didn't happen more often than that or I too may have eventually fallen into the pattern of justifying it to prove my love for my parents and make them "right" somehow. I HAVE seen far too many children hit and their faces speak volumes. I do not believe the government should interfere in the healthy discipline of a child which I don't believe I need to explain here - I believe that once that "discipline" reaches a level of violence it should be considered legal assault. I am not saying every child should go into foster care, that's ridiculous. However, assault and battery against any child should be illegal in a court of law much as it is for committing against anyone else. I think a little jail time, community service, and mandatory parenting classes are certainly in order.
Hey, forgive me my rant. I wanted originally to give a humorous response but then I remembered just how important it can be to share one's factual insightJust last night I responded to many people on board that I know will never read my responses because it was worth it to try, and to hope what I wrote made a positive difference in someone's life. That is the ultimate reward. Making it the responsibility of some god is lazy, inhumane, ignorant and immoral. Believing that one's ultimate reward comes after death is a fallacy of deadly proportions allowing many (NOT all) human beings to be selfish, uninterested, and oftentimes downright hateful.
I haven't got a doubt you'll read this, Markyy. I get the feeling I am going to be 'thumbed-down' on all sides and the knowledge someone will is more than enough.

Some days, quite a bit, it is easy to become jaded on here. So many people are just looking for someone to confirm what they believe or just looking to perpetuate the nonsense not really following the discussion of a particular belief or science. But I keep posting and reading because sometimes people surprise you and you get a best answer from someone you would have believed would never have even read past the first 2 words of your post. Sometimes you get through to someone just a little, and sometimes you just present the other side to someone who might be reading and not even know an intellegent opposition exists. Besides, how interesting would it be if we were all on here saying "I totally agree with ____ and to restate what he said..." It is good to hear other sides, look into what they are saying and learn something.

no longer likely. I seem to locate that many questions are incredibly much each and all the comparable questions are being asked over & yet back. regularly on the Singles & dating classification. the only questions i'm asking or answering are unique questions that has been asked not often or no person has ask in any respect. i might submit a effortless question yet provided that its a final motel. those days, i'm finding for unique inquiries to respond to or ask. i assume some human beings experience the comparable way & that's why much less human beings come right here & participate.

I know you wont read this answer but I do it many times. Mostly to Christian questions where the person is just looking for an Amen.
Edit: I also go back and check other people's answers too when I have the time.

I read most of my answers. Unless they are an obnoxiously long scripture block. Or the spelling makes my eyes bleed. Or I don't like the person posting...
Everyone reads my answers, Marky! =0P
