We are a community of people working together with God to bring peace and justice on earth. Belief plays no part in Judaism; it is a religion of action. Believe what you like, but you must act morally and ethically. God will judge us by our actions, not our thoughts.

There is no central "belief" about the afterlife because our goal is here on earth. We will know the messiah, because he will be King of Israel when there is peace on earth and justice for all. The messiah's sole objective is peace on earth. He will not be a god.
