with feeding tubes and such, how long can they actually survive? I know they're presumed dead after a couple days, but what if they continued to keep the person of feeding tubes and everything else theey need? If you can give me any sort of average time that would be great, and please provide sources.

This is a very good question. I think the person can live for months or years as well. I also think that we should keep the person alive if the heart is still beating and we are not God
we really don't have the decision to make. I never could agree with pulling the plugs. As long as the person heart is going than let them live. We have people who walk around brain dead to this day.

I have a friend who was in an extremely severe multi car accident. She was put on life support, and the nurses all said that she was brain dead. The reason she was kept alive with all the tubes, etc., was because her father is a doctor at the hospital, and the boy who had caused the accident, had a father who is a doctor at the same hospital. After eight months, my friend woke up. Her brain works fine, she walks fine, she lives alone..........she did lose her eyesight. She lived.

No, a individual who's techniques lifeless won't have the ability to stay.. with out machines... yet a individual could have harm to the techniques.. and be in a coma and desires to be on stay saving machines which breathe for the guy, which feed the guy.. yet they're not likely techniques lifeless.. they're comatose.. some human beings have been in a coma for 10 years ... very uncommon events and that they awoke from that.. they had to learn returned to communicate and easy issues.. yet some comatose people who have been unconsicous for 10- years and necessary to be artificially fed.. etc.. they are in a position to each now and then awaken and lead a common existence returned.. they'd would desire to relearn like a splash one.. each and every little thing returned.. yet that occurs.. yet completely techniques lifeless human beings are lifeless and nothign will ever convey them back to existence.. yet their physique could be saved quickly alive by using machines.. however the machines do each and every of the particular funcitons.. the respiration.. each and every little thing.. if the machines are swiitched off.. the guy stops respiration.. there are comatose human beings.. who're deeply subconscious who do not ought to be on a respiration device.. so in the event that they breathe on their own.. they're nevertheless alive.. and there continues to be wish.. yet whilst they're completely techniques lifeless, they are in a position to easily exist as long as they're related to oxygen and heart and lung machines.. etc... they'll in no way recuperate despite occurs.. it rather is impossible..Coma is a diverse count. If a individual is asserted to be techniques lifeless, they're previous any scientific care that would revive them and that they are not coming back to existence. === TB ===

A person can live as long as their machines are running. Essenitally, though they're brain is not active, they still have a heartbeat and thus they could live forever I would assume.....
