My friend won't let her Yorkie sleep with her because the dog is so small my friend is afraid she'll roll over on her. She does pick Moppet (the Dog) and put her in bed with her to play sometimes but not to sleep.

Entirely your decision...you won't hurt the dog....he'll move if he thinks your gonna roll on him...however.....the quality of sleep you get may be worse than your used to because your sub-concience will not allow deep sleep do to the dog being there......My daughter used to let our dog sleep with her...the older she got, and the older the dog got.....he sheds all over the bed...and thrown up on the bed....and now he has seizures..and drools sometimes...but, the only way she can keep him out of her room..is to shut her door....which she doesn't necessarily like to do..simply because we have a very old house (1900), and her room has no heat run, and the A/C comes from a window unit.....it's all about choices.....what you want for the long term......

I have 2 fiest that sleep with me everynite the only thing about small dogs is you have to get them some steps or have your bed lowered to prevent injury from them jumping or falling off.I will tell you this once you start it will be forever and if it's bed time and you and your mate want to get intimate you may have a problem,it's kinda hard to be intimate with someone or something watching ,you have to put them out of the room close the door, and this can cause some jealousy issue with the person who is NOT the primary caregiver. My female kind does not like my husband because she knows at nite sometime she may get put out she is soooo pitiful and the male acts like he kinda knows what's going on so he's fine on the couch for awhile. But as far as fleas you can use those drops or bath your baby weekly, they all have or get fleas whether or not they go outside or not.As I said earlier once you start you are committed to keep it up you may hurt the dogs feelings they have them, just do what makes you and your dog happy.Good Luck on whatever you decide to do.!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my dog used to sleep with me, but she started to really mess up the bed. She left a lot of her fur on it, causing me irritation and sneezing. Also, it could be a little dangerous to sleep with your Yorkie because there is a slight possibility that you might "Roll over" on it. If you need more information, ask me.

That is a decision that you need to make on your own. There is not reason why you should not let him sleep with you if that is what you want. If you are afraid of rolling on top of the dog don't worry about it he'll move out of the way or you will most likely wake up.

You have to becareful. I just can't say no about this because I sleep with both of my chihuahua's and they are 3 pounds a piece. But I am really small myself but still I could hurt them I'm just very careful and a light sleeper. I use a pillow to keep them on also.

its ok but what i do with my yorkie is put a pillow above my pillow and let him sleep on it that way its not in your way. i open a couple slots in my blinds and when he wakes up he looks outside at the birds instead of waking me up...

It's fine to let your dog sleep with you, if that's what you want. I'm sure that others will answer you by telling you not to roll over on the dog. Animals are very smart and will get out of the way if they see something way bigger than them coming at them. If you roll over and the dog thinks you are going to roll over on him/her. It will get out of your way and settle down in another area of your bed. I hope this helps!

ok to the people that said its perfectly safe but I am sorry you are wrong. I knew a girl that killed her dog by rolling over on it and the thing was so little (8 weeks) that she didnt realize it until she woke up that morning. So its risky to do it when they are so young.... maybe when the pup is older.

My five Chihuahua sleep with me all the time. I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't think you have to worry about him getting hurt.
