How do I elimnate a space before the name in the mail merge feature in MS Word?

I'm importing my info from an excel sheet and there is not a space before the name on the sheet. I also tried to manually fix the space but it keeps reverting back to having an akward space. PLEASE HELP!!!

If the space is not in your Excel sheet, double check your Form letter/document for extra spaces.
