I used to have imaginary friends, I used to believe in god. I outgrew them both. As for your correlation I don't know the answer to that one.

No. Imaginary friends are a normal and healthy stage of childhood development. Their appearance marks the beginning of imagination and creativity in the child's mind. For the most part, gods are hereditary, as they are passed from parent to child. There would therefore be no correlation between the two.
A correlation might exist between those who kept their imaginary friends for an extended period and those who claim to have personal contact with God(s), but there hasn't been a study into the matter so we can't tell.
