The Good Samaritan, because it teaches you to love and respect people despite their culture. I think the messages in the New Testament are more wholesome than the old T. Old testament stories are fun (Noah etc) but teach that God is vengeful. By the way, for Bible stories for adults, check out Lot and his 2 daughters, and the story of Dinah, sis of Joseph of the amazing technicoloured dreamcoat.

my daughter just finished potty training, and she is obsessed with going to the bathroom! she still trying to wrap her head around the idea that people existed before toliets and cable! she likes noah's ark right now but loves to tell me how that's "just a story" because what would they do with 40 days and 40 nights of poop!

we are jewish, so we always try to talk to the kids about why a story is included instead of trying to prove it was true. as a family we decided that is a good one for what it feels like to move to a new house (my 4 year old) or how it takes a whole family to take care of your pets (my 6 year old). probably depends on the age of the children.

If your kids like dinosaurs, there's always the story where David takes down the rampaging T-Rex with a single shot from his high-powered rifle.

Adam and Eve and their talking snake.

Oh I know -- the time god turned the Nile River into blood.

Or what about the time god freaked out when he saw humans building a high tower, and so he created all the languages of the world, and everybody was speaking his own language.

The Bible is not a "fairy tale", but it is the Word of God! Teach children about Jesus Christ.

This one,:
From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB)

Peace and love brother....

I like the one where Moses gets angry when the Israelis decide to spare the lives of women and children... he says to kill all the children and mothers and only spare young virgin girls for breeding.

However marrying one of the conquered sex slaves is off limits. One Israel man does and god kills him for it.
