Not an Athiest, but evolution is an eternal thing. When life as we know it comes to an end the earth and every other thing in space will still be evolving. Therefore it has not stopped, nor can it ever stop. Humans were not here when it started and will not be here to see much of it. We are but a tiny blip in time.
Addendum: to all those seem to think it is going slowly I might point out the advances and follies of mankind in the past 50 years. 50 years ago there were no computers, video games, cell phones...the list goes ont. that is an example of electronic evolution. AIDS, extinction of some animals, new viruses, strange things living in polluted water (6 legged frogs). Cloning, test tube babies, people living longer thru advanced medicine. So what makes you think it has stopped or we can't see it happening around us?

Now now, just because creationists have stopped their own mental developement doesn't mean that evolution isn't true.
By the way, the mud wrestling story was recanted by Buddah on his deathbed.

Allele frequencies in populations change constantly. Evolution just goes on. In time speciation will occur. The rest of what you say is just strange, and I'd take more care when you go looking for mushrooms to eat next time.

Haven't you heard of Methcillin Resistant Staph Aureus, penicillin resistant Nesseria Gonorrhea, AIDS (having evolved from SIV). These are happening now. Evolution is happening now.
Just because you don't see it happening in mammals, the same way you don't see a glacier moving, doesn't negate the fact that it is.

The process of evolution is an ongoing process that is working today. The problem is that it takes thousands of years for noticable differences to occur in the wild.

LOL @ YOU.
Evolution is still happening. It happens over many years so you won't see any radical change in your lfietime, however there has been minor instances over the last few years. For example the evolution of black moths by natural selection in big towns/cities during the industrial revolution. They were able to camoflauge better from the suit given oiff by factories and so increased by Natural Selection

You seem to be saying you belong to a group where evolution has stopped. I'm sorry to hear that, but as for the rest of us, it continues.

Evolution hasn't stopped. Don't judge it based on your inability to notice change in your short time here. A few thousand years in recorded history is nothing compared to millions of years.
