Okay..if you want to get touchy about it...my step-son is named "Tanomia"..and it is pronounced "Ta-na-me"...it is suppose to mean, "Quiet wind of the North" But I cannot find that any where..I am searching for the acutal Native American translation that states that...My husband says he read it in a book when he was younger, but cannot remember the book or anything about it.

After many years associating with people that were "into" Native American spirituality, I discovered that the so called teachers, even the "Native" teachers, who were willing to do ceremony with non native, white people, belonged to the Wannabe Tribe. The real deal Native American spirituality does not want you playing Indian with their religion. It is insulting to them. It would be the same if someone that was not Jewish started claiming to be a follower of the Cabala. Oh yes, there are plenty of Jews pissed at Madonna and other Hollywood Wannabe Jews for making a mockery of something that is very sacred to them.

What the first two said...

Honestly from what I've come to get the gist of, the in general stuff would be a bit insulting to many...and names are not just handed out...wannabeism is bad...

Question is: WHY do you want to know this? Hopefully you're not a wannabe... that's so disrespectful. I'm not sure many people are going to cough this up at random, naming is sacred to many peoples...
