To be honest i would send the b/f out to work. Unless like me you have problems and need caring for. (another story im not going into now)
They best way to get a house from the council is to tell them you are homeless or will be very soon.
Get letters from friends and family saying they wont be able to put you up, And get a letter from whoever you are living with now to say you have to leave in about 4 weeks time.
If you stress the fact you will have a baby and no home they wiol give you a priority banding (if they do that in your area) and you have 16 weeks to use it then you have to renew it, but they dont like people having to renew them because it makes them look like they are doing a bad job.
So you should have a house by then.
But be warned you have to apply for a flat every week even if you hate it or they will take the priority card off you.
If you can find a private flat then go for it but you will find most landlords wont take DSS so another reason for the b/f to go off to work.
Even if he cant afford enough for the rent you can sometimes get benefit top ups.
hope this helps
good luck with the little one!

Having a baby is a massive responsibility. You shouldn't have a baby just because you want a flat, what kind of person are you? A baby isn't a fashion statement either. Before you got pregnant you should have thought all this through and got yourself sorted, like saving up for a flat you can pay for yourself and all the things a baby will need. Get off your lazy ars e and sort yourself out girl, people like you make me sick.

Sorry to tell you this but all you will get from council is a room in a hostel. You will have to live there 16 weeks or more while they find you accommodation. If you live with parents you Will not get a flat it is only if you are homeless or been kicked out by parents.

i dont have confidence somebody might have a newborn for a flat tbh..i think of it become an twist of destiny why might you deliver a newborn directly to this earth for a flat looking after that youngster is extra confusing than going to artwork for minimum salary additionally bare in concepts those human beings ought to stay off £60 a week(thatis no longer alot even for a unmarried individual) heavily what fool might certainly try this...it make no experience although whether that's real those human beings are relatively fatalistic and have low self esteem in profession possibilities and have no theory how costly babies are so as that they cant be that smart

the council are crap for getting u a house. me and my husband lived in a 1 bed flat when i was preg they told me i wouldnt become a priority until my son was born. wen my son was born i went in showed them proof of birth and they put me as a priority but the list for that was really long so i was at the bottom. anyway 7 months later im still at the bottom of the list i go in and they say theres nothin they can do. so the next month i decided to rent privately the council are a bag of s**t. gud luck any way

depends where you stay - here in Scotland there is a long waiting list for any accommodation (unless you want an area where no respectable person want s)- then the way you are talking that would suit you - grow up, you can control your own life so why bring another into this world.

Why not be original and actually get your boyfriend to support you...Instead of sponging of the rest of the population, after all you 2 got yourself into this why expect other people to subsidise your pregnancy ?
