My Mum bought me the coolest apron a few birthdays ago. It's made out of a cotton blend. It's a full one that goes around the neck and ties in the back.
I have two huge pockets in the front. It washes up nicely.
I'm kinda short and the apron is adjustable. The loop that goes around my neck is all one piece (runs through the apron) with the ties in the back. As I pull the ties, the loop around the neck shortens too so the apron doesn't sag.
I know she spend a small fortune for it...I wouldn't trade it for the world! :-)

I just use a plain white commercial apron, but only when the food's going to be messy. I'm still in the habit of wiping my hands on an apron. So like, cutting up meat and grinding, definitely an apron. Cutting veggies? No apron.

I am pretty messy so I tend to wear a large apron that covers most of me. As I wear dresses mostly I want to keep them as clean as possible. Here are a couple of links to the styles I wear. A plain one for cooking and housework and pinafore for hostess duties.
The Jewels and Edwardian styles are good all-round aprons and give good coverage and the Pinafore is nice to wear when entertaining.
Hope this helps.

I don’t have an apron but have always wanted one. If I do get one I’d get the kind that covers your upper and lower half (it goes around your neck and ties behind your waist). But the ones I see say kiss the cook (like those manly barbque ones), or are too girly.

I don't have one, but really need one of those aprons that cover the upper torso, in addition to the bottom half of my body. I make a mess sometimes because I am so clumsy.
I don't like any fruity, martha stewart designs either. if I could find one in a plain colour, I would buy it.

I think the best kind is one with lots of pockets, so you can put tablespoons and things in, and one that covers your upper half to, not just the kind that cover pants. That way you won't spill on yourself.

if it covers both above the waist and below the waist then no splatters soil your clothes .... and if it washes easilly like a pure cotton, that is good
