This is kind of stupid, but what happens if I don't refrigerate salad dressing right away? My fridge is broken and I really want to eat this salad. I am getting it fixed on Saturday. I can just seal it tightly and it should be fine, right? Isn't refrigeration just better for a colder taste and to keep it fresh longer? It should be fine for a couple of days though, right? Thanks.

I get that, but that's it, right? It won't go bad or anything?
I can live with cold salad dressing =)
I told you, this is a really stupid question!

I just don't understand how it's OK to eat warm when I first buy it, but suddenly the seal is off and it's not OK? I can seal it really tight again. Thanks.

I would not take a chance on eating salad dressing that had been out of the fridge for awhile.
Refrigeration is not just for keeping it cold.Check the ingredients in the dressing and you will find that most have dairy products or eggs in them so they must be kept refrigerated.
I imagine it will be fine if you can eat it all up today otherwise I would toss it out.I would not wish for you to get salmonella poisoning because of salad dressing.

NO! If it is a cream based dressing especially. Once air hits a sealed bottle, the ingredients can turn rancid if not refrigerated. Just sealing it tightly won't matter once it has been opened. If it just an olive oil and vinegar base, it might be okay, but I would take no chance on one that contains egg or milk solids-its not worth the risk

You cant seal it tight enough as it was before because it was vacuum sealed. You put it in the refrigerator so that you can be safe from harm full things.

check the label. if it says, keep refridgerated, then it will spoil. if not, you should be ok, although i have never heard of a salad dressing that does not need refridgeration...

How's the weather where you live??? if it's cold enough outside, put it in the snow.

It will go bad. Especially if it's Ranch or Blue Cheese or something. Only when it's new and unopened do I keep it in out of the fridge.
Don't get sick!
