how was it?

Ok, why is it when ever anyone asks about Atlanta the first two things that pop up are traffic and crime? First of all, the crime in Atlanta is no worse than any other major city. In fact, in the list the FBI releases every year, Birmingham was ranked worse than Atlanta last year. Come on, it is not that bad. I went to Georgia Tech and never once had a crime problem the entire time.

Second, yes the traffic is bad, if you commute. The traffic in town is no worse than any other city. And the drivers in Atlanta are better than most other cities as well. If you come here to visit, how much are you really going to be dealing with traffic? Probably not much, so why discourage someone from a great city because of that.

With that being said, Atlanta is a great city. It is in a wonderful location close to mountains, the coast, and a centrail Airline hub. The weather is mild in the winter, and honestly not THAT hot in the summer. High 90's on average during the summer is not as hot as the 100+ daily out west. Yes it is humid, but you deal with it.

There is a wonderful diversity of things to do in Atlanta. If you are looking for family fun, there is the Theatre of Puppetry Arts, Fernbank, and more. Lots of shopping, dining, museums, bars, clubs. There is something for the partier, the nature lover, the shopper, the diner, the theatre buff. If you like what a major city has to offer, but don't want to feel closed in by a concrete jungle, you will love Atlanta.

I went 9 years ago. I was 8 at the time. It's really hot there in the summer. It's also very diverse. There's a lot to do also, like the Underground Atlanta deal, which is an underground shopping complex. I also saw a lot of homeless people, and it scared me at the time. Atlanta has its pros and cons, but overall I really liked it there. It was the first major city that i've been to besides Saint Louis, which is where I live near.

Yep. Just like any major city, the traffic sucks and its not just in Atlanta, its all around Atlanta. Some people are friendly and some are not. As I said, its the same in Atlanta as it is in every large city.

Yes. It certainly has changed alot over the past few years. I find it to be rather crime ridden & filled with terrible traffic. Not one of my favorite cities.

I live in Hotlanta and it's great. There are clubs and pubs; plenty of live entertainment, playhouses, comedy clubs; and lots of really interesting people.

Come on down. . .you'll love it.
