My hair was once long and quite thick, but it all changed. Now it is so soft that I can't really make it look good. I'm in my mid-fifties but haven't completely gone through menopause. Does any one have any solutions?

maybe you can get a cut that fits your hairs texture...like a perm or a pixie or, soft shag or something that is easy to take care of for your soft hair.

do you think it is from estrogen levels changing I take dhea...you might want to read on it and ask your doctor....i swear by it and my doc told me to take it..

Try getting a body perm or even highlights or all over color. Any chemical process will rough up the cuticle layer of your hair a bit. It's not very damaging as long as you don't over do it, but it will add a little texture to your hair. Your hair will hold a style better, and will seem fuller. Usually women your age have the opposite problem... hair turning grey, and therefore very coarse and wirey. Consider yourself lucky!

Take Vitamin B supplements. You are lacking in Niocin.

Try Nexxus VitaTress Food Supplements. They work great and make your hair thick and full. I took them when I was pregnant because my hair started to thin because my body chemistry changed. Give them a try!

It is thinning.May I ask if you take a good vitamin daily? I do because of my hair.I'm 51 and my hair started thinning, mine was from stress and menopause.I take a good multi-vitamin and now have new hair growth,Sometimes it is from the meds you take, ask your Dr. if you are one that causes that side effect.Hope this helps, doesn't your head feel coolers?Mine does. Thanks for 2.
