Or anybody for that matter? I mean it's just a design that has meaning..or not..but we want it on our body as a constant reminder. What is so bad about having a design on our body?

I hate that, too. It seems like a lot of people (more than I thought) still have that old fashioned idea in their minds that girls are supposed to be all prissy, girlie & dressed up like dolls. But the truth is that there are a lot of girls who do not see it this way & want & are not afraid to express themselves. Besides, if guys (and celebrities) can do whatever they want, then we can too! Try not to let it bother you. Times have changed.

some people have set in stone preferances about how they thing the world should be according to their own moral viewpoint. This makes them make judgements against people based only on outward things. Like the clothes they wear, the style they cut their hair, the amount of make-up used, how they walk and even if they are tattoo'd or not.

There is nothing inately wrong with getting a tattoo. Tattoo's are nothing new. Infact according to science tattoos of the skin are some of the oldest forms of artwork in existance. Mummies that are thousands of years old have been found that have tattoos all over.

It's hard to say now a days but in the past Tattoos on Men and Women had a negative stigma assigned to them, ie, "outlaw bikers" and such. Today however, i think society as a whole is more tolerant in some respects but some "main stream" people haven't quite come to grips with tat's yet. It's NOT repeat NOT a bad thing to have a tattoo, its a way of self expression.

Personal preference. My father really doesn't want me to get a tattoo, but I plan to get at least three. Most people think tattoos on females are wrong because tattoos in the original thought are for men, bikers, rock stars, and army people. Most people think if you are a girl and get a tattoo it should be small concealed easily and feminine, also with color. But it is usually only close minded people these day or the older generations.

Same reason that the little kid who stands up to the playground bully at first gets all the attention & abuse.

Most abuse for tats is heaped at women; some to men too, but definitely not the same amount & less harsh (probably out of fear, due to sex stereotypes - the guy "is more likely to whack the abuser"). If you look historically when women were first getting the right to vote, similar statements were made about them - trashy, irresponsible, no one will ever want them, etc. It's hard for some to admit that some people - women or men - are fine with living their lives the way they want to.

With meaning or without one, if you get a tattoo is there to stay.
I know there are ways (expensive ones) to get id of them, but if you want to get rid of it, why to get something permanent in first place?

People change through time and age, and something that look like a good idea right now might not be so in some time.

A couple of female friends I know that have more than one tattoo they wished they didn't do it, because now it reminds them of the guy that ruined their life or that beautiful dolphin looks more like a whale now.

its is more old generations which have a problem with woman and tattoes. i have 5 of them on my back. but i started getting them when i was 32 yrs old and i still got backtalk from my family. in their eyes tattoes are for bikers, or people who go join the armed forces, it is not suppose to be for women. it is another standard for double standard in society today. it is ok for the guy but not ok for the girl.
if you like them, and are willing to live with them your hwole life, get them. i have two which are towards the death of my parents and the joy i feel for my best friends. the other three are just interwined with everything in my life.
but just remember something, i here getting them taken off hurts alot more than getting them on. so if you are willing to spend that kind of money make sure it is something you qwill treausre all your days.

i think some people see tattoos as a sign of rebellion or extreme independence and it is frightening to them to think that a girl would be so brazen.
of course to say that everybody with tattoos is rebellious is just ridiculous. tho if you tell me i can't do something... don't think i won't make my best effort to do so... maybe there is a little truth to it?
also a huge stereotype for girls with tattoos is that we are trashy or trampy and i guess people don't want to think of a pertty or nice looking girl as ruining her body and "becoming" something undesirable.

alot of people think that it looks trashy and slutty when girls get tattoos. Some people like it. Some don't . It's really a matter of personal preferance.

This will be debated forever.....people hate fat people, long haired people, dudes with earings, gay people, smokers, etc etc....I dunno why....but I just tend to hang with only cool people and avoid all the jerks as much as possible. And anyways, tattoos are for yourself not others so they should not be expressing thier thoughts at all unless asked. In a nutshell its just plain rude.
