Given that apocalyptic is used in the Greek defination of uncovering or revelation, would this then be the dawn of or foundation of Christianity?

I believe there were strains of gnosticism within Judaism that precede the advent of Christianity, but your thesis is interesting.

Gnostic beliefs were basically the foundation of Judeo-Christian beliefs, so yes, you are right. Gnostic Christianity basically means to "seek the truth," but Christians over the centuries twisted it into totally something else.
