Atheist: 80% know the bible
Muslims: 50% know the Bible, 70% know the quran
Christians: 20% read the Bible.
Just a guess, based on the answers I receive.

I was going to say that probably 1/4 out of all of the regulars actually know the Bible.

Define what "know the bible means"
That is a broad term that can be taken many ways.
I would say 30% on this forum knows it well
30% is learning it and growing as they study it
30% knows about it and puts little time into it while trying to
teach it to others.
the Last 10% Just knows about it

Not sure.
A similar and even more important question, would be: How many professing Christians "know" Jesus.
Many will say to me on that day;"Lord,Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out demons? and in your name done many wonderful works?
And I will say to them,I never knew you:depart from me,you that work iniquity.
Knowing and being able to intelligently discuss the Word of God is of upmost importance..to be able to give to everyone that asks of us, an answer, a reason for the Hope that lies within us.
"Know what you believe and Know why you believe it"
Most importantly, "Know the author"
P.S. I do not share this arrogantly,I too walk in fear and trembling

I couldn't hazard a guess as to how many know it chapter and verse... as you seem to know it.
I myself am at times woefully limited in my knowledge of where particular phrases and verses are. Sometimes.
What I do know is what is in my heart about the Bible, what is in my spirit about the Bible, and that will take me much farther than simple head knowledge.

Many know the "hit singles" of the Bible, like John 3:16, but most have never heard the whole album

Despite what the person says above I have read the Whole thing cover to cover and have went to seminary school, at the undergraduate level.
I would put in a percentage more like 35-40%.

I think your guess is likely right. I have enough of an idea to be able to guess at where to look stuff up in it.

That's about right. It took me thirty years of study to feel that I almost know the Bible. I doubt anyone here has even read the whole thing, much less gone to seminary school.
