Kinda makes me like this God guy..makes him more human!
Or could it be....there was a REAL bible...real word of God....the one written almost 2000 years ago, but men changed it to fit their beliefs....and the REAL bible is hidden in Rome, where occasionally all the really powerful men get ttogether and marvel at how this God guy could be so gullible as to believe Humans should be free...in their thoughts..and the living of their lifes.

A few of the reasons that there are so many translations (not versions) of the Bible are:
+ The English language is very complicated. It changes all the time. English is different in different countries. English can be different in different neighborhoods.
+ Biblical scholarship improves every day.
+ Archeology learns more and more about biblical times every year.
+ Distrust. Protestants cannot trust a Catholic translation and Catholics cannot trust a Protestant one. One Protestant denomination cannot trust a translation from a different denomination.
The original language documents have not really changed. The Dead Sea Scrolls helped prove this. The scrolls are important because they testify to the accuracy of the people who copied and recopied the Scriptures over the centuries. Despite minor errors, they show us that the Old Testament has not changed since it was compiled.
Why the Catholic Old Testament has seven extra books than the Protestant Old Testament is another story.

Men have interpreted the Holy Bible but God said that the Scriptures are not for private interpretation. The Holy Ghost will reveal the Truth to us, not man in his own wisdom.
2 Peter 1:20 - Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

The word of God was in the original text of which the rest are translated from. The translated text is put in different wording so that we can understand it. But if you go through the translations, they should all match by meaning. There are mistakes made from translation however which makes some things difficult to know what the true words are, without your own master studies of original text.

The Original Bible is the word of God , but God didn't promise to protect it , (for many reasons).
The Quran is also the word of the same God, but thats the only book God promised to protect , as it is the last message to all humanity before dooms day.

The fact that there are many versions does not mean it isn't the word of God. That is what happens in translations. If you go to several different people from Mexico & ask them to translate a letter from English into Spanish, each letter will be worded differently but the message will be basically the same.
Kind of reminds me of a joke I often heard in church. A preacher used the NIV version in his sermon & a little old lady comes up to him after service complaining "If the King James Version was good enough for Peter & Paul, it should be good enough for us!"

The Living Word of God is Jesus, but most of you don't believe in Jesus or His commandments. You don't believe in the Word of God.
You believe in Moses and the 10 Commandments.
I wouldn't be spreading the Word of God if I did not believe, that my preaching would turn just one soul back to God.
You have the real bible, the Gospels of Jesus Christ, believe in his words, not the words of Peter, Paul or the Prophets.

King James was translated, when people spoke "thee & thou" but thats kinda hard for today, so they went back and translated it into New King James and also English version standard from hebrew and greek text, try them the are very good and you can get your own interpretation, in stead of mens.
also the bible says You need no man to teach you but God's spirit will teach you all things, so pray for God's spirit to guide you when you read the bible. It WORKS!

the bible was in hebrew, translated perfectly acurately to latin, the vulgate, and then to english, the dewey rhemes. you can find the vulgate and dewey rhemed translation on
