i know dogs arent supposed to eat chocolate. it was a small choc doughnut but now he has been getting sick, has this hurt him? please help

No - He'll be fine. The problem with chocolate is chemical found in DARK chocolate - milk chocolate has been so diluted there really isn't any danger unless you dog consumes a TON of it...also - the stuff used to make a doughnut chocolate is probably chocolate flavor - with little or no real chocolate in it.
Bottom line - your puppy is probably sick from the sugar and fat in the doughnut.
Never feed your dog chocolate - especially dark chocolate - but if your dog eats something with chocolate in it they should be fine. I have treated dogs that consumed entire bags of Herseys kisses and have been fine - tinfoil and all.

My mother-in-law's dog is a choco-holic.
He can sniff out chocolate anywhere, and he has been known to eat entire bags of chocolate that were not hidden well enough. And if he can't finish an entire bag at once, he eats his fill and stashes the rest around the house to save for later. (Toy poodles are a real pain in the behind, too smart for their own good!) He must be some kind of super dog, because he has never acted like it bothered him at all.
However, if your puppy seems sick, you should absolutely take him to the vet!

Puppies are very curious, and if anything is lying around they are going to try and eat it, no matter what it taste like...The doughnut isnt going to hurt him..He probably will get a little diarhea, but I woudnt be too concerned unless he ate alot..Chocolate is toxic to dogs, but the little icing that he had isnt going to hurt him..Just be careful next time, and keep an eye on the little booger....

Chocolate IS bad for dogs but I think death by chocolate is just a rare occurence. My nephew's month old beagle ate an entire bag of chocolate/toffee covered pretzels and was fine.

Someone told me that the younger the puppy the bigger the problem will be if he consumes chocolate. I think you should visit a vet, just to make sure everything's okay.

NOOOOOO! He will be fine a small amount of choc is fine just dont do it all the time. I habe two boxers that have each had choc and they both are fime
