If you were sexually abused, the doctor would have to report it. It is a law. If it was recent or is still ongoing, a rape kit may be done (rape examination). You would probably also be referred for counseling to help you deal with the emotional aspects of sexual abuse so that it doesn't impact future intimate relationships.

The goal is to stop the abuse and to protect you in the process. If you are being sexually abused, please don't let your fear of the consequences prevent you from telling the doctor. You are the victim! You are not to blame! And, you deserve to have it stop so you can deal with the trauma and be able to have a happy future.
