you have to be patient and cunning. are you his friend? drop hints about her putting him down, or better yet that he is under the thumb from her.
you have to wait until he has done something stupid then pounce. you have to be really nice to her all the time.
its a hard mission but worth it!

I'm sure if you look around you'll find a girl that is "every man's dream" and available. Leave this couple alone !! If you like her so much why in the world would you do something to hurt her? I'd bet even if she wasn't with anyone you wouldn't be her choice. If you started acting more mature and less like a jerk who know , than she might see the good qualities in you. Right now all anyone sees is a spiteful, mean spirited person. If you are a good boy start acting like it now!

I completely understand how you feel. When i was in high school I was in love with a girl. She had a boyfriend for a very long time & they seemed to be very serious about their future together. I wanted to be with her, but i couldn't. It killed me because she always seemed to be flirty with me so i thought her feelings about me were the same. Well, I had too much respect for her to try & destroy her relationship with him because it seemed she was happy so i just let it go. I was happy being friends with her.
Well, years have passed and i still have the memories of her.. but I have met a woman that TOTALLY blows her out of the water. She's the best! We've been together for over 4 years, and we are engaged to be married.
If i knew then what i know now I would've done the same thing because my fiancee now is everything I could ever ask for in a woman.
I guess the "moral" of my little story is to just let things happen. If you don't get with her you can still be her friend and life goes on. You'll meet someone else who will be just as good or BETTER than her.
No matter what the outcome, i wish you luck.

You have to MAN UP and do something about it!!!!
Come on now... you shouldnt be sitting here wasting your time with all these people who dont even know the girl you like. Just doesnt make sense, they cant help you if they dont know how your feeling you know?
You just have to do sweet things for her to get her to think... hmmm I wonder about him... send her roses as a secret admirer and slip lil love notes in them. Like "You know me and I know you, your taken but still I love you and I want you to know so just take a guess, who am I? A close friend ;-)" Something cute and mysetrious like that! Thats actually quite sexy cause its so secretive and romantic at the same time.
You have to sit her down all alone, just you two, make her dinner and invite her over and just tell her AFTER you two are done eating and hold her hand and tell her what your about to say its very important and that you just HAD to tell her before she moves on with her boyfriend. If she feels the same way then she shouldnt even dare think twice, you seem like you are completely in love and I think its adorable!!!!!

Sounds like you are as you keep refering to as 'a jerk'.
If the girl is in a long term relationship you will have very little chance.
On another note your previous girl left you for another man - this suggests that your no brad pitt and certainly unaware of how to satisfy a girl in the bedroom. Listen, if she doesn't think her bf is a loser there's nothing you can do short of sabotaging their relationship with lies which would make you a true piece of sh*t.
