I have said this many times. We help everyone but do you see anyone helping us like when we were attacked we need to quit giving always and never getting anything back. I am all for helping people out but I think that they expect it instead of appreciating it

Maybe it's because many countries see the most terrifying thing in the world at the moment is America.

I happened to be in America on the 9th September 2001 and within a couple of hours, the President was on TV ranting about being at war. I remember listening in disbelief that he was saying that America was now at war with whoever did it, even though we don't know who it is yet - we're at war with them...

What a rational and open minded response to a national emergency situation. But that's the American way, isn't it? Just shoot your gun at stuff and yell a lot.

The funny thing is, that's exactly what the "terrorists" in the middle East do, too, but they're the bad guys, m'kay...

Even Tony Blair's trying to sneak out the back door at the moment, which suggests to me that something really bad has gone on over there...

America has always stepped up to take care of the problem. You know they wouldn't be complaining if they were the ones in trouble again. I say all the countries that oppose the war shouldn't get any help from the US any more. Next time a madman takes over their country we should let them think about their stance on America's involvement in the world a little harder. Then maybe they'll help us and not just sit idly by and complain.

Because other countries have too much going in their own country to help others. e.g.India has been facing terrorism for over 20 years now.
How much do Americans actually know about terrorism? It took a 9/11 to actually fill up the concept of terrorism. What about the nations who are facing same shi* because of US's help to the terrorist countries. Fighting wars started by own fault isn't a favor to anyone else...

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that WE experience an attack on our own soil. Other countries did not, and the attacks that have occured abroad have been done to allied countries after the "war on terror" began. That's probably why the US is so gung ho about the war.

On the other hand, I think many countries are reluctant to join the fight because they fear for their country and do not wish to deal with retaliation attacks.

Still more countries simply do not think the threat as significant as we portray it to be.

leogirl needs to do some more research on this issue. her list is very flawed. example: egypt. one of the largest sleeping terrorist nations in the region. hamas and hezbulloh are everywhere and the egyptian government will sign any agreement our government puts in front of them so that we continue to send them over 6 BILLION dollars annually that is never to be repaid. they do nothing to cutail the terrorist activity within their borders. Saudi Arabia had a "telethon" to raise money for jihaddists. need i say more.

i've spent my fair share of time in the middle east in uniform and will probably be back there again. i kkep my eyes open and my mouth shut and always cover my 6.

Other countries were asked to join but
they had more sense than to get into this debacle.

If other countries condone our invasion of a country because we don't like the leader that we ourselves helped come to power and then armed him
They feel like they may be next and America may have shifted from being a friend to being the agressor

And in regards to being the first to line up to help
where was the U S when Katrina hit ??? certainly ain't in Louisianna

the war on "terror" is just a front.

it's mostly for greed. For oil. The rest of the world sees that the U.S. is hurting INNOCENT civilians in 3rd world countries, & would rather not get their hands dirty.

Besides, the U.S. is seen somewhat as a bully, there aren't many countries who want to ally themselves with that trash.

Well, aside from our better allies like Brittain, they don't like us, never did, never will. They want to see us fail but don't want to be exposed by doing anything outwardy like openly funding terrorists groups. They sit back silently, handing our enimies little bones on the side discretely to help them out. This is something very important that Liberals do not understand. They get all emotional if they think someone else doesn't like us and want to go giving away the bank in order to appease them in hope that they will like us. In the mean time, they are laughing their butts off at our stupidity. The libs think this global untity crap is a good thing and being self sustaining is bad. None of it makes sense, thats why the Liberals embrace it.
