Because they're all brawn & very little brains............
ONLY KIDDING GUYS!
Actually, I've heard that about the army but I've never heard that about the marines. They are a very brave, tough & elite corps.

You have your opinion, but let's see what real people who don't live in their mother's basement say:
The Marine Corps has just been called by the New York Times, 'The elite of this country.' I think it is the elite of the world.
Admiral William Halsey, U.S. Navy
Why in hell can't the Army do it if the Marines can. They are the same kind of men; why can't they be like Marines.
Gen. John J. "Black Jack" Pershing, USA; 12 February 1918
The American Marines have it [pride], and benefit from it. They are tough, cocky, sure of themselves and their buddies. They can fight and they know it.
General Mark Clark, U.S. Army
I can't say enough about the two Marine divisions. If I use words like 'brilliant,' it would really be an under description of the absolutely superb job that they did in breaching the so-called 'impenetrable barrier.' It was a classic- absolutely classic- military breaching of a very very tough minefield, barbed wire, fire trenches-type barrier.
Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, U. S. Army
Commander, Operation Desert Storm, February 1991
There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and the enemy. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion.
Gen. William Thornson, U.S. Army
My only answer as to why the Marines get the toughest jobs is because the average Leatherneck is a much better fighter. He has far more guts, courage, and better officers... These boys out here have a pride in the Marine Corps and will fight to the end no matter what the cost.
2nd Lt. Richard C. Kennard, Peleliu, World War II
To observe a Marine is inspirational,
To be a Marine is exceptional.

I have never met a Marine that was stupid, little common sense yes but not stupid. I mean hello they all either graduated at least high school or got a GED, oh yeah they also had to pass the ASVAB. FYI it is harder for Marines to recruit than it is for the army or navy.

Armed Services adminsiters the ASVAB, not the IQ test, and there are plenty of smart people in all services and job specialties.

Do you enjoy looking like a complete fool in front of strangers? Like the other person said...YOU DON'T HAVE THE TESTICLES OF A REAL MAN TO ASK A UNITED STATES MARINE THAT QUESTION.
If you can read, thank a teacher, if you can read English, thank a U.S. Marine.
One nation under God with His UNITED STATES MARINES ON GUARD.
A U.S. Marine sniper says: YOU CAN RUN, BUT YOU'LL JUST DIE TIRED.
Now, ask that same question of a U.S. Marine, and tell me what happened after you get out of traction.

Marines are in a class by themselves, They are amazing rugged individuals who are trained to kill people and be compassionate at the same time. By your question, I can assume that you have not served in any branch of the military and just hate the idea of the USMC. You are an elitist liberal who has no foundation for your claim and feels that the military is below you. These men and women are bright, intelligent and are the most battle ready force in the world. I would for you to ask that question to a Marine, and I also bet you are jealous that you would never make it in basic training. I would love to see in basic, you would wet your pants. Remember Semper Fi will be around forever, whereas you will be remembered for nothing

I just got back from two exercises with the marines in Okinawa and then at Camp Itami. Those guys are dedicated, hard working, and as smart as any of the members of the other branches. They also had better discipline than most any other unit I have seen. And your experience with the marines is.........?

I'm a Marine......But I'm not offended......I've been around lots of people who told me that they went to college and had "high IQ"s"....some were good to go!...but the majority were worthless as t!ts on a boarhog!.......I'll take common sense over "high IQ's" any time..............

Actually, the Army is the only branch to lower its standards. The Marines have higher standards than any other branch.
