Just ask yourself this question..

Do I have the heart, will and balls to better myself?
and not just for yourself but for those that will be along side you?

Ask yourself that with all your heart and the Marine Corps will help you answer that question for you and give you an answer that you will be always proud of.

That's why I joined the Marines...cause I like my answer and only god himself can take that away.

I chose the Corp because it was an elite service branch, it had the hardest training and I didn't just want to be another troop! There were no programs to acclimate you back into Civy life. Back then you were to busy dodging being spit on! They had a program to go back to school and I took an early out to do just that (2 months). What you need to know, that the Corp is a volunteered group like the others and once you sing on the line, you are theirs to do what they wish, not what you want, but what they want. You are a commodity like a desk and chair. They will give you the best of training and equipment , NO MATTER what the democrats say! There is a camaraderie in the Corp non like any other service, and it doesn't matter when you served. I can talk up to a WWII Marine vet and talk to him as he can with me, and we sharer the same history and discipline and es sprite de corp. You will have life long buddies, as I have today, though we are dwindling. It will be the best thing you have ever done in your life, as it will instill discipline, integrity, honor in you! Go for it!

The Marines have a proud tradition of being the best. However, they also have the most casualties.

There are programs such as Operation Transition to get you back to civilian life and see what areas you are best suited for employment. The Veterans Administration will give you educational benefits.

Lastly, what should you know before making the final decision? You are going to be stuck in the Marines for 4 to 6 years without a chance of getting out early - except for bad conduct. It is not easy and should not be taken lightly. It will change your life forever. The change could be good and could be terrible. It is up to you to decide.
