I have been with my bf for over 3 months and I'm crazy in love with him. He's wonderful. However, I find that I really need my own space sometimes. It's important for me to be alone and I think we spend too much time with each other. If I don't get my quiet time, I become very aloof and tend to withdraw a bit. How do I tell him we should spend a few days apart without hurting his feelings. He's an amazing person and he's so good to me. The last thing I want to do is make him feel bad. Any suggestions?

Be honest. I have been married for several decades and I am still like that. My wife and I do things together and we do things apart. We both have mutual and exclusive friends.

There are a lot of married people I know who seem to be joined at the hip. Some guys I know don' t go to Home Depot for a gallon of paint wihout bring the wife. Some women shop for chothes with their husband hanging around. I could never deal with that.

Tell him how you feel but make sure he understands that you love him and don't ever want to loose him. Always make accomodations for him if he needs to see you. If you have plans to do someting with your friends on a Saturday afternoon, make sure you are there for him Saturday night.

If he is compatible with you it will work. If not, well you might as well find out now.
