Hourly it is. 4 years back it was 250/- per hour.

Canada - $30K - 60k canadian
USA - $20- 65k
UK(Europe) 30k - 100k pounds

Best bet is to go to AOPA.org and look up the first flight school you see.

Minimum, without a multi or Instrument rating just a PPL and a CPL, $15-20k US.
