You will need to be as close as possible to Burbank. Good luck to you. Your daughters agent should have lined you up with their relocation person from the agency if they are legit & they would be doing the footwork for you free.

Do you want to be near the beach? If so, try Malibu if you can afford it, or Santa Monica. Or do you want to live in the hills and have a view? Think about the Hollywood Hills then. Or is it important for you to live in a location convenient to where your daughter might be working? Maybe the westside or the San Fernando valley. Do you want to live in a house or apartment? If you are looking for apartment living, think about the Wilshire corridor, Hollywood, or even downtown. Are you looking for a more urban or suburban lifestyle? More urban, think about Hancock Park, Hollywood. More suburban, try the west valley. Also think about climate. It is cooler near the beach. It can get very hot in the valley. Neighborhoods also have different ethnic and cultural characters. Some are more bohemian and trendy, e.g., Silver Lake, others very white bread, e.g., Pacific Palisades. Schools might also be a consideration. Transportation is also a big issue. LA traffic can be a nightmare, so you need to think about the places you need to get to, and how convenient it is going to be to get there from wherever you live. It is very hard to answer your question more directly without knowing more about your personal preferences.

I relocated to Los Angeles about 7 years ago. I prefer the San Fernando Valley. Burbank, Toluca Lake, Studio City are very pleasant places to live. Studio City and Toluca Lake are centrally located regarding the studios. It's between WB, CBS, and Paramount is just over the hill. You will save a lot of time and stress without a huge commute.

Simi Valley is just 30 minutes from Hollywood, and is the safest community in America. Excellent place for families, plenty of new housing developments with high-end options. Seach for "BIG SKY" in Simi Valley, for example.
