my computer won't update or install new software from internet?

Question

Every time i try to install new media or update to a new version such as IE7 or Windows Media 11, the instilation starts as normal but always stalls. Sometimes the window crashes and i can't close it

Help please!

Wow, you mean I'm not the only one. Try going to the Windows up date site, and you should get an error number. copy that number and go to the Windows newsgroups for windows up dates(a link will be on the same page where you get the error number). Now paste that number in the search window on that page, and those people can help you---you may have to try a few different things.
