I have a PC, therefore I don't have final cut. I know Final Cut works for this, but I'm trying to find a solution short of going out and buying a mac and Final Cut.
I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a solid program to capture and edit footage recorded with the Canon AH A1, for the PC. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions about doing this?

You could send your camera to me, and I can figure it out for you :-). Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 is a great program because it captures HDV, and is also tightly integrated with After Effects and Encore, and the rest of the Adobe production studio. Get it for $849, or if you're a student like me, you can get it for around $350, or the full production studio for $550 ($1,700 regular price). Sony Vegas also has HDV capturing abilities, but quite frankly, it sucks. It's not because it's bad or anything, but I'm an Adobe person. Sorry Sony fans. Hope this helps!
