i have been waking up each morning with my right eye swollen,not the whole eye just above the cheek area,i am on blood pressure pills and is a diabetic type 2,i am hoping it may just be an allergy and nothing more,but i have been eating some deli meat thats pretty salty,so perhaps thats it,but anyone out there have any other ideas?

If you have high blood pressure you really should not be eating salty meat! It won't do your BP any favours.
That aside....I would say get it checked out by a doctor, it may be nothing but its best to get that confirmed.

could be the salt, but more than likely it's allergies. it's that time of year for some people.. i wake up every morning with the same thing but it's with both of my eyes. mine is sinus pressure do to allergies... i thought i was having a reaction due to my meds because i didn't have any other allergy symptoms... go and see your doctor just to be safe though and i hope everything gets better
you can use a warm wash cloth on your eye every morning to get the swelling down if you need to. it makes mine feel better.

I have the same problem every time I argue with the wife!!
Seriously though see you doctor, don't mess about with diabetes!
