Do you think an omnipotent being would have any difficulty feeding you lies while calling it truth?
Do you suppose for a moment that an all-powerful god couldn't in fact be cruel and deceptive, and yet have you totally convinced that he isn't?
Might you ever have considered that your god might be manipulating you into acts of cruelty and strife, while tricking you into believing that you were doing right by him... and furthermore that the temptations of wrongdoing were from some other source?

Might you ever have considered that Satan wears the mask of God?

Can you seriously trust any being of such power NOT to be perfectly manipulating you into doing wrong?

[Note: If you don't believe in a god then I suppose this doesn't apply. If you don't believe in morality then this definitely does NOT apply.]

It doesn't make sense that the God who created you and put into you the desire to do the right and moral thing would then deceive you. How could your Creator give you something He himself didn't have?

What is far more likely is others deceiving us in the name of religion or, even more likely, our deceiving ourselves.
