After all, he has already made me feel ashamed to be an American with his actions.

You may condemn me but at least my actions wont have put 3000+ americans in the ground, along with countless numbers of Iraqi citizens .........

Dave
you need to pick a target for your protest that gives a rat's rump and one that will be around to see it
Junior will be in Crawford (that is if he's back from making whoppee with the South Americans with an American check book in his hand) -- drinking green beer and laughing at old Irish limericks --- it is doubtful that he'll even see any of the activities on TV----he just simply doesn't give a damn !!!

And, dude, leave the flag alone here--- the symbol of our nation is not to blame for the arrogant misuse of power we are seeing !!! They are doing the job of taking that symbol apart on their own without any help from you---and why would you want to lend them a hand in what they are doing anyway ?? If anything at all--- wave that booger high and proud --- to remind any who care to see that there are still patriots that are willing to stand up against the elitists and the demigods who would RULE us and take from us the foundations of our forefathers charter --- the very Constitution that they have swore to protect and defend !!!!!

Everyone Settle down, Yes he can burn an American Flag if he wants to. He has the right to protest as long as he is peaceful. If he starts swinging the burning flag at people and starts yelling threats at Bush, then he is out of line and should get beat up on by the cops. He is only burning a piece of cloth that the pattern is chosen as the nation's flag, he is not torching New Jersey. Plus lighting a flag on fire is the proper way of deposing of a retired flag( riped, torn, and/or faded flag) In a proper ceremony, I was a Boy Scout and done it at least five times. If you don't want him to burn the flag, then tell the Anti-Abortion Protesters to stop showing dead babies on the posters and signs that is a lot worse and makes people sick. I don't want to hear I'm not patriotic, If you look at my profile you will see my family has done a lot for this country. Hell my dad, who is an US Army vet said that he would rather see someone burn the flag in a protest then see flags that need to be retired still flying on a flag pole and others left out at night with no light on them or in a storm. You people may not like the idea of him burning a flag, but do YOU respect the one you have at home. The only thing I ask him is not to burn a Battle Flag or a flag that was over a veteran's coffin.
My father also said that, We don't fight for a peice of cloth, we fought for are country.

NO! Don't hurt the American flag because you are angry.

You are an American citizen - you have the right to be angry and to protest the government.

Jesus gave you a mouth to speak with and eyes to see so you have the right to do with them as you please.

Soldiers of the past and of today fought and are fighting to protect all of those rights. In the volunteer military they knew the risks, and we honor them.

Please think of another way to protest, if you must. Please just pray for the soldiers and civilians and that there can be peace in the Middle East.

I pray every night for the soldiers, civilians and for a peaceful end.

Pray that the terrorists can change their hearts.

When I am in the Marines I will be tough and strong and maybe die, but it will end one day.

Don't be so angry. It will raise your blood pressure and still not stop the war.

I think also there is a new law or something that prohibits the flag burning.

I never have understood why some think that burning the flag is an appropriate way to communicate what they dislike about the country. If I see someone burning the US flag I think they don't like anything about the country, not one or two things like President Bush. If you wish to protest the war, or Bush, I'm sure that you are smart, intelligent and can find a better way to protest than burning a flag and muddling your message.

If you're ashamed to be an AMERICAN. get the hell out of this country and go to one that appreciates ungrateful children.
Go to a country where your words against their leader will get you a visit by the security police in the middle of the night, to be dragged out of your house and never seen again.
If you want to burn the American Flag in front of the White House, that's your right. But I'd be careful of the UNITED STATES VETERANS who might disagree with your stupid action.
How can anyone be ashamed to be an American whose troops are fighting, being wounded, maimed and dying so others can look forward to freedom, as our troops have done so many times in so many places around the world.
There's the door, don't let it hit you in the hind parts on the way out.

No. The power of the government rests with the Citizens of the United States. What you need to do is get off your duff and inspire people to act. You need to write letters to your Representatives, register Citizens to vote, cause our laws to be enforced and ensure that we ride herd on our Government at all levels. The government has no rights or powers except those powers the citizens of the United States give them and if we begin taking away every power they have that they abuse, little by little, through public, grass roots action, then, I believe the abuse of power under color of law will stop. George W. Bush is not the decider. He has no power except that which is ratified by the Senate and our Congress and our Congress has overriding veto power over GWB.

If you want to protest, protest George W. Bush. Maybe you could burn him in effigy instead of the flag -- but I don't know if that's legal now. I guess you could try it and find out or you could talk to a federal attorney.

Go ahead and see what happens. If the Secret Service don't get to you, I am sure at least one Vet will beat your butt for burning our flag. If you hate bush, go vote against him in the next election. By burning the flag, you are insulting all of those Americans who have fought and are fighting for that flag. That flag represents way more than what is our President.
You using a symbol of millions to protest one man is absurd. Bush may not be the best president, but us going into Iraq again was going to happen no matter who was in charge. Do you think Saddam was waiting to see who was voted in before he decided to let the UN in to inspect? Nope, I don't care who was elected as president, us going back in Iraq was going to happen. Saddam caused us to go back in, not Bush. Point blame where it belongs, on Saddam. Saddam could have just let the UN inspectors in and have freedom to look whereever they wanted, but he didn't. He caused so many problems, which panicked a lot of people. All he was doing was buying time to move the WMD's out of Iraq, or bury them someplace. He was guilty, and he got what he deserved, death.

Somehow a dissenting voice is treason. Only in a dictatorship.

Luckily, this country was founded on the concept of freedom of religion, press, speech and others. The freedom of speech as written in the Constitution and sanctified by our fallen soldiers is perhaps our most precious right.

Burning a US Flag on Pennsylvania Ave is protected speech and political dissent. It is also guaranteed by the lives of soldiers lost defending that freedom. Its almost sacred.

Burn that flag with pride. Burn it knowing that thousands if not hundreds of thousands of American heroes died so that you may exercise such a right. No other country on Earth can you burn a National Symbol and have men and women watch, some with disdain, some with anger but all with certain pride.

Personally, I find it revolting and in no way support your message of hating America. And I am very proud that my country allows you to do such.

first of all burning the flag wont change anything, and you would be dishonoring those 3000+ who have died under that flag. i know I'm only 16 but looking through my eyes, this would be useless act. plus when most people enlist they know they are signing their life over to serve this country. and they know there is a possibility they can die. if i end up joining the Marine Corps. i am fully prepared to die to make this country and the world safer and better. i wouldn't want someone disrespecting our country over my death.

you will possibly get into severe hardship. The desecration of the flag on my own is constitutionally allowed; inspite of the incontrovertible fact that, what do you think of will ensue whilst your putting a ability fire on the grounds of the abode the place the President lives? Dont you think of the secret provider will bash your head in? Im especially particular you will face rates on the feeble attempt for interest.
