The logic?? behind nuclear fuels is that electric power can be produced by nuclear plants. Nuclear fuel for power plants last a long time. (This is in sharp contrast o fossil fuels such as oil and coal that are quickly used up in electicity production.) It is also true that there are no greenhouse gasses produced by nuclear fuels. ( Something that concerns environmentalist, but that I think Iran is not very concerned about.) The problem comes fromthe possibilty of enriching nuclear fuel (for electric power) to weapon grade nuclear fuel.

How do we solve this problem??? We need to offer Iranians a sensible alternative to nuclear plants while at the same time demonstating good faith ito assure them, and demonstrate to them that their misgivings are misguided and illussionary. What to do???

1. Substitute windmills, wind turbines and wind power for nuclear pants.

2. Shut down the nuclear plants, and install windmills in Iran. (Iran knows about windmills they had them there back 1400 years.)

3. Formulate dipolmatic effort in order to formulate a mutual non-agression pact between Iran and the United States, as well as other countrties that may want to fromualte a non-agression pact with Iran.

4. We must understand that the root of many of the problems we face come from trying to effect cultural change. Cultural change takes a long time. The Pilgrims of Massachusetts in 1620 had a theocratic colony. It was not until the United States Contitution was ratified that freedom of religion became a guiding principle. Before the Constitution we lived under the Articles of Conferedation of 1777. It was 1929 before women obtained the right to vote in the United States. (Both time periods interstingly are a little more than 150 year from one event to the other. Like I said before---these thing take time.)

We could waste a lot of time and money and energy (both emotional ,psychological, and useful energy supplies, on some Crusade against Islam. (Been threre done that in the Middle Ages already for centuries, without any success.(There is a general principle here that commonly goes overlooked----You can't teach people to love their neighbor by making war.) You may be able to impose your will that way but maintaining it rerquires continued force. This is counterproductive to peace, harmony goodwill and co-operation.

5. A world-wide program to dismantle all nuclear weapons should be started with the co-operation of the United Nations.

6. Make Psalm 34:14 the guiding principle of international relations:

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Because we have an established track record of being able to handle the responsibility of having those weapons. Iran doesn't want nuclear technology for the energy, they want it to get a weapon. If they were sincere, they would have taken the Russian offer to provide them with nuclear fuel, and with the removal and disposal of their spent fuel, in keeping with international law.

Power of course, the more people who have them, the less can be threatened militarily and economically by western powers to comply to western models of business, politics etc. Right or wrong this is how it is. They doesn't mean it would be safe for Iran to have nuclear ability but reason and reality are often not the same.

"Because we have an established track record of being able to handle the responsibility of having those weapons"

A quote from answerer above, USA has USED atomic weapons in WW2, tested biological weapons on its own citizens in the 1950s without telling them, and also used bio weapons in GW1 on Iraqi troops, used chemical weapons in Vietnam..how is that responsible?

I know about the chemical and bio wep testing and use as I once worked on auditing insurance contracts paying out over several decades for US citizens and soldiers effected by these tests and the effects of Agent Orange on them and their children.

For the last time - America and the UK are responsible nations lead by balanced individuals, governed by multiple checks and balances, and monitored by our respective citizens - all the while having NO intentions of using our ultimate weapon. We are peace loving, democratic nations who will NOT SELL THE NUKES TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.

You need to wake up. Iran is the number 1 sponsor of terror and will be held to account. America hasn't acted yet because of the sour international opinion of us( for defending ourselves from terrorists). We wont wait for sanctions forever.

And if they refuse to stop enrichment - its War.

That,my friend,is the big question. However, the parties you mention, excepting Iran, will tell you that they are fearful of Iran using these weapons, yet the only ones making with the threats to strike first are the US and Israel.

The truth is simple though, in that the West do not want a powerful nation who will protect the oil from the thieves in the West, and with this power, be a 'listen to us' broker on the side of Palestine.

because the US and the UK are hypocrites.

And as to the first answer that talked about Israel ........ um, didnt the US wade into Afghanistan and Iraq uninvited???

The trouble with the US is that they are the guys in white, always the good guys. The most dangerous country is one in which the citizens always believe they are in the right and everyone else is in the wrong.
