the philosophy of fate is a superstition... nothing is written in advance that is going to happen next moment...

Where the outcome is predetermined? I would have to say yes only if allowed to explain: Is there ever a time when two quantities each having a value of two that when summed the cumulative value is not four? Is that fate? The outcome of the mathematical problem is predetermined based on the variables and operation employed (I am far from an academic, the example is simple logic.) Therefore since life appears to be pretty much a mathematical problem, we are able to effect various outcomes (I seriously doubt anyone says hey look I'm changing fate) simply by changing something within and/or without ourselves. Is that fate? I am reminded of a passage of scripture: in all thy getting, get an understanding. My understanding is probably not as inclusive as some others but I do understand the pursuit.

We have not seen the foundation of a building but we infer that there should be a strong foundation below the ground to sustain the weight of the structure above. This is scientific thought. For every thing to take place, there must be unseen cause. If you see a chair, you can infer that a carpenter has assembled the chair. But he is not seen. Likewise everything has got a cause to happen. We judge things from our own view point. Nothing occurs without a cause. Whether bad, good or anything, there is an unseen cause. Within the ambit of yahoo answers I can not explain everything. But if you go through religious scriptures you will come to know that whatever happens is as per some just cause ordained by God or Fate as you term. nagarajan.

Everything happening is due to fate. But one thing is that your deeds can change your fate. Here you have given example of accident and telling that a bad man escaped and good man and babies died , means the time of death of bad man has not come. For death a baby and old man are similar. So we cant say that it is bad that baby died .There are many other reasons for these calamities like bad deeds of other family members or the before generations and also the fate.
Any good deed can help us ,also the bad man can get another cahnce to do good deeds before death.See evertime the death is telling every mankind to do good deeds.
We can say one thing ,time was finished for those who died and still time is remaining who are alive.
We cant say anybody bad because there are many chances of his doing good deeds in his remaining life.
Man can change upto his last time after which he cant do any good things.
He has got liberty as well as thinking power to do it.If he do good deeds ,he will surely be rewarded by many things.Good person is always good and he will be rewarded ,here the thing is that his time was finished and his death was decided like this, bad man have got a chance ,this is fate

This life itself is a test for each and every soul. Man has got free-will at every moment of his life. He has the right to choose right or the wrong path. Whether he is a beggar on a roadside or the world's richest man, this is the situation. He is always tested in his actions. Even if you don’t agree it is a test, still we face the situation of choosing this or that. Suppose in a class of 50 students, all are sitting for exams, then the teacher knows who will come first, who will come among top 10, who will be in the last 10 and who will fail. This doesn’t mean that the teacher decides the results. But she by her experience with the students can say this. Same applies to God, in fact for God there is no limitation. Why? Bcos God doesn’t have past, present & future, to be precise no time dimension. This is what muslims believe as Life after death. It is eternal means no time dimension. To understand this timeless state, consider our sleep. We don’t have any conscious during our sleep. Still after 7 hours we know that only after seeing the clock or the sun. It is the wish of God to allow you to choose and test you. He knows what you will do, doesn’t mean that He makes you to do that. Kids dying in the accident, may be that is a test for others, For the Kid's parents it is test of their belief. Good people dying in the accident means examination is over for them. Bad people escape the accidents means their exam time is extended; they are given more time to learn & correct themselves. Death is not under our control, there is someone controlling it; your case is a clear proof for it.

No, I don't believe in fate.
http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2005/1/15/article_01.htm

As wise King Solomon stated:

"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.
For man also doesn't know his time. As the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them." -- Ecclesiastes 9:11,12 WEB

This article sums up what I believe is the cause of suffering:

'God, Why Did You Allow This?'
http://www.watchtower.org/e/20030101/article_01.htm

? ... By "Dharma", do you mean:

1. an ancient sage in Hindu mythology worshipped as a god by some castes;

2. basic principles of the cosmos; or,

3. an individual’s duty fulfilled by observance of custom or law.

It's in the box.

Chance explains more than fate or dharma or karma or prayer or grace or acts of god ever will.

Nothing but chance saves one and destroys another. All religious explanations falter when it comes to this. Why do bad things happen to good people (and vice versa)? The answer is not found in scripture, it is found in random chance.

Life is life and good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. I'm really not sure if I believe in fate or not to be honest. But what I DO know is that even if fate doesn't exist because you don't believe in it, doesn't give someone a free pass to hurt others and be mean.

leave the God alone in this quest for truth. Leaving all the Gods
irrespective of religion, you can easily answer as 'random chance'.
None will question this answer. However, if we want to pursue in
a deeper aspect, my thoughts run like this. KARMA. Basically a
person is paid for what he has worked. Likewise, I feel that we reap
what we [here it applies to our fathers & fore-fathers also] sow.
Noble will be rewarded and the sinners will be punished.I go a step
ahead. Bifurcate sin into knowingly or unknowingly committed ones.
Ultimately to conclude I would say that we have to pay penalty for a sin knowingly committed by us or our fore-fathers.

Nope, no fate. Just circumstances involving bad choices and bad people that end up in bad endings. For every one of these circumstances, there are an equal number of good things that happen to good people as well.

According to you what is Dharma ? You want all the good people to be saved and all bad to die. crazy . Don't blame fate catch the driver, who is the main cause and try to get him punishment. Be practical.
