my cat is male and his eyes were scratched and started to bleed i left him and when i came back his eyes and face had swollen up what should i do is he infected should i take him to a vet?

Yes it is very likely to get infected. Take him to the vet immediately. A friend of mines cat got scratched in the eye years ago. She went and hid for three days and no one knew about the scratch or could find her. She now is blind in that eye. The eye is also huge and black and will stay that way for the rest of her life.

No actually let him lie there and swell. After a while he will begin to look like a little chia pet. LOL. NO OF COURSE TAKE HIM TO THE VET NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Swelling in the eyes is never good. This could result in loss of the cats eyesight.

Take him to a vet. You could try washing them with cooled boiled water in the interim, but he probably needs antibiotics. My cat was in a fight, got bitten/scratched on his face, and it turned into an abcess that needed surgery.

Of course you should take him to the vet. Cat's claws are full of germs the scratches are bound to get infected.

Hi, Take him to the vet straight away, my cat Charlie hadn't been fighting he just scratched his own eye, he now has a big gash in his eye and a big ulcer near the gash. He is on medication. If i hadn't noticed straight away he could have lost his eye. So please take him as soon as possible Good Luck.
