can people of 2 different social classes have a relationship?

my family is from the middle class making around 200,000 i currently like a girl whos from a lil lower of a class with her parents divorced and her family bringing in less then 20,000. the 200,000 is nothing compared to other family members. the majority of other family members are making close to one million if not more a year. I'm from what one might call a WASP background. my family believes that richer people need to stick togeher and only be with richer folk. so does anyone feel that someone can come into this type of world. my family has told me that i do not have permission to see her and if i do anyways then they will not be taking care of me in the future if things go realy good and we stay together. idk what to do and would like some advice

to answer your question yes they can have a relationship your parents are selfish and its sad that they are teaching their kids the same thing i don't know but if your parents have money and you are well tooken care of maybe they were smart and have you some kind of CD, Savings Bond, or some kind of account of your own i suggest that you get you a job and do for yourself you are 19 don't know if you are ready to get your own place or continue to live with parents but if you are living with parents i would have to listen to their rules but you are at the age to sit and talk with your parents and let them know that its not fair for them to stop supporting you if you make a bad decission in life they are suspose to help you get through it because the young lady parents don't make as much money as your parents don't make her no less of a person she has feelings too and your parents should understand that everybody in this world don't have it easy and that they shouldn't think they are better than anyone its not nice i suggest you talk with your parents don't let this break up your relationship with your parents and if it does than i think your parents need counseling now on the other hand if you want to get into a relationship with the young lady i suggest you to not let her bring you down to her standards and that i mean 20,000 think about it because it can happen a person can bring someone down without even having cause basically i think you should listen to your parents you are still young and you have a lot to learn you can take this as a learning experience keep the rich with the rich like your parents say which is sometimes a good thing or you could do like you want mix the rich with the lower class and if you do that be careful you have a lot to think about if you do that just don't jump into it think about the things you have and are use to compared to the things she had and not use to it may cause a problem anyway good luck to you and think about it don't rush yourself if you want to be honest be her friend now if your parents have a problem with that than i know there is racism because its nothing wrong with having friends

he probably has no idea that it is offending you. When he makes these comments, I'm pretty sure he's not thinking that he's insulting a group that would include you. You should bring it up to him, but you should also consider how you're interpreting things. Personally, as a pagan, I see no problem with "He's a good guy, goes to church and all." That's not saying you have to go to church to be good, just that going to church is one mark of a good person. And the fact is he DOES believe Buddhists and Shinto believers are wrong. You need to respect his beliefs as well. BOTH of you have to agree to disagree. And while neither of you should be shoving it in the other's face, you also have to understand that sometimes the other person is going to talk about their beliefs, and sometimes you're going to disagree with it.

wow, i cant believe they said that.... it shouldnt AT ALL be a factor not to have a relationship with her... its called LOVE and they should understand that it has nothing to do with money... you should really follow your heart and look for whats really important in life...

well first just hang with her. if your parents find out make sure they know that ur just friends. if that doesn't work tell them its not her fault her parents are poor. then when u hang with her u find out ur in love date her but tell her about romeo and juliet and how his parents are making them behave like them. so date her in private. so then if things don't work out no one will know.

yes. money doesnt make a person happier, it may help, but its nothing compared to your feelings for her. my bf's family is way more wealthier then mine, however, we love each other.
