My son has absolutely no interest in the potty, I've tried to give him time and wait until he's ready but he's three years old now, and still shows no interest whatsoever. He doesn't mention the potty, he doesn't care about wearing big boy underwear, he doesn't want treats, or stickers, or candy, he is just content using his diapers. Any suggestions for a stubborn three year old? I've tried several things on here, ie. the candy, stickers, charts, treats, nothing has peaked his interest.

my advice is...

set a toddler seat next to the toilet in your bathroom, and take him with you when you go and maybe he`ll gain interest. maybe it work better if his daddy took him if he saw a man doing it maybe he`d relate. and also...ask the daddy`s mother what she did to potty train him.

This sounds all to familiar. I went through the same thing with my youngest son. No interest whatsoever!!! Finally, when I decided that enough was enough, I just had to put big boy underwear on him and I told him that if he wanted to be a big boy then the pull ups had to go. In one weekend, we had him completely potty trained!!! It was messy at first, but he hated the feeling of the pee and poo on him and started going on his own. Pull ups feel and work just like diapers. Like you, nothing was appealing to my son either. He fussed at first about the underwear, but I told him that all the pull-ups were gone and mommy & daddy wasn't going to buy any more. Like I said, in one weekend, completely potty trained and no accidents so far. It's been 7 months!!! Good luck to you hon, I know how stressful it can be at times.

boy's mature a lot slower than girls.. get some kid books on potty training and read to him each night there are at least 3 or 4 out there maybe more .. take him to the bookstore.. let him pick out the ones he wants.... that will peek his interest in training. Plus if he wants to go to Kindergarten he will have to be completely trained.. that is another goal you can put in front of him. He isn't going to want to spend the rest of his life at home in diapers.. honest!

get him interested. no kid just decides on their own to give up the convenience of peeing on themselves. you as the parent have to make him get interested make it fun. take him once an hour every hour to the potty and make him sit on it. and stop buying diapers buy pull ups for car rides naps and bedtimes. no need making them embarrass themselves in public. still even when out find a potty once an hour. you have to be consistent. let him see you and daddy go. dont worry about teaching him to stand right away. that will come on its own in time. take him shopping and buy some big boy undies let him pick them out. but about a dozen or more pairs and plenty of laundry soap, accidents will happen at first. kids dont like to be wet so he will train in no time also get him a little step to help him get on the potty on his own .

first of all, I thoroughly comprehend the type you experience..my daughter did no longer get potty experienced till she grow to be 3 a million/2! i found out which you won't be able to push them into, using fact then it only makes them back song and not opt to do it in any respect. Be a splash extra affected person with him, yet you may actual attempt some issues like purely having him positioned on undies vs. diapers and make him a minimum of sit down on the rest room as quickly as each and every hour, and be certain you do it each and every hour. you additionally can attempt getting between the little potty's and have him sit down on it for hours at a time, looking at his fav video clips. My lady pal stated that this worked for her daughter and she or he on no account wore diapers back. She used the potty like a chair, and every time her daughter attempted to stand up or in spite of, it felt extraordinary to her so she could only sit down back off and at last she pee'd interior the potty and have been given excited! you additionally can attempt putting cheerios interior the rest room and helping him pointers on a thank you to objective for the hollow's...i've got heard this one is often variety of relaxing! yet one situation for effective...you need to advantages him whilst he does pass and don't get mad whilst he has an twist of destiny....yet only supply it some extra time, he gets there. stable luck! :o)

Two weeks ago, I told my 3 yr old son one morning " No more diapers" diapers are now only for bedtime and a pull up for nap time. Expect some messes for a few days but I was amazed how he just accepted it. I didn't ask him, I told him. He was very content in his diapers too but he didn't have an option and he did very well.

I didn't have that problem with my son. On his third birthday I put him in "big-boy" underwear (super hero's) and I told him he shouldn't "mess" on Batman". He was content with that and hasn't purposely made a mess in his pants since. Thank God he caught on quick ,'cause the smell was really getting to be outrageous. I bought him several different types of super hero and cartoon character underwear so that he had his pick for the day. It worked for me,he'll be 4 in two weeks.

give him a major incentive. my friend potty trained her niece in a month because they were going to go to disney world, and they told her that she couldnt go see mickey unless she could use the potty like a big girl. you dont have to go to disney, but giving him a major incentive worked for us.
