Well, it really would depend on how formal the wedding is, but seperates can actualy pull the same affect off as single dress. Since you are petite, you might want to appear taller and seperates would give that illusion along with some strappy heels

If the wedding's in the evening, it's going to be more formal, so a dress would work then. Since it's in August, something very lightweight and summery (I'd wait a few months before shopping). If it's earlier in the day, you can probably get away with separates.

I'm also very small and find a lot of cute stuff in the little girl's departments and juniors. There are some dresses that would look great even on a grown-up. Wear something that looks nice and you are comfortable in. A summer dress would probably be your best bet.

Your mom is an older guy or woman. i'm effective that "feeling like a bride" is the least on her techniques. perchance it fairly is YOU the single which desires to experience like a bride and attempting desperately to fulfill your guy or woman fantasies. A exterior BBQ on a sundress is a suited wedding ceremony for an older couple for his or her 2d and 4th wedding ceremony. The time for white fluffy robes and veils excessive has long previous; her gown determination is totally high quality. as a count number of fact I commend mom and her sister for throwing an age suitable/condition suitable wedding ceremony fairly than pretending to be virgin brides of their 20's. I recommend you step back, it fairly is HER wedding ceremony and it is what she needs.

Try for a summery, elegant look. Do not go too short or show too much cleavage. Find out what color the Bride and Bridesmaids are wearing. She may not be wearing white.
