I'm 19, male, and not really overweight just wanna shape up.I have never been active in my life so I joined a gym last week. I've been going 5 times a week and I'm still trying to adapt to all those cardio machines and add some time/resistance. Do you recommend I start weight training right away, or wait till I fully get used to cardio?

do both. start small and work your way up. do not get embarassed. It will take some work on your part but keep it up. make sure you are drinking a lot of water, limit your sugar intake, and try to limit fried foods. Eat a lot of protein too.

Start weight training right away. The increase in lean mass will increase your resting metabolic rate and allow you to burn extra calories on a 24 hour per day basis. However, don't overdo it and remember to keep up your nutrition (it is more effective than weightlifting and cardio combined).
