In real life my name is Sean. I'm 29. I have a wife and a son. I'm a Republican, but liberal on the social issues. I have a job in corporate America in payroll.
I like movies - scifi and comics,
I like sports like football.
I read science magazines and books.
I'm not into music a lot but enjoy it sometimes.

---

Would you be friends with that person, Sean, in real life, if you never met "Jim Darwin".

I don't really like Jim Darwin anymore and want to call myself Mayor Sean.

Thanks for reading.

You sound like a couple of my friends already, so yeah I'd be your friend.

It doesn't matter to me what you do, or what you believe, but who you are.

Well in real life my name is Sarah, I'm also 29 (for a couple more months anyway). Pretty much married with two dogs. I'm a democrat (but will go Republican depending on the person and the issue).
I have a job in housing
I love movies - all kinds
I'm a football and hockey fanatic.
I coach two youth hockey teams 6 months out the year
I read alot of books
I'm very into music

Would you be friends with that person?

Who knows if our paths ever would have crossed if it wasn't for this, but I would like to think that we would be friends if they had. My friends, currently, are all over the spectrum - conservative, liberal, straight, gay, black, white...whatever. I look more at what's inside to make a determination on whether or not we should have any kind of relationship.

I'm a 31-year-old, single (ugh) Client Relations director in a small Internet Marketing firm on the East Coast. I'm a huge movie fan (of all sorts) and I can more likely be enticed into any sporting event (hockey, in particular) if I'm there as opposed to watching it on TV. I'm an even bigger music fan, but I do turn the volume down every now and then.

And if you're letting go of the Jim Darwin moniker, Sean, I can too. Nice to meet you! :)

Maybe. I rarely go to Chicago though.

I am 48, gay and have been partnered with the same guy for 15 years.
I have a job in corporate America doing IT, personnel and payroll as well as production management.
Most of my friends are either Democrats or pissed off at the Dem party for being too conservative (me for one)
Most of my friends are either single with no kids or married but their kids have long since moved out of the house.
Most of my friends don't really give a hoot about football, those that do are hardcore about it.
I also love sci-fi and find comicbook movies fun.
I enjoy music.

I'm very liberal on social issues too! and I bet you can't guess what my real name is! The football would depend on what team you root for lol

Definitely, Mayor Sean. We have quite a bit in common, really. I 've got 2 boys, ditto on the politics. None of my friends appreciate my love of sci-fi. You could watch football with my husband though, I prefer NASCAR. And I could always turn off the music for you, it's always playing in my head anyways.

I love the way you think. I believe we would be friends no matter how we met. (work together or had a kid on the same soccer team, etc.)

But we would have never met w/o the net as we live in different states. It is just one more way to meet people, and often with more of the same interests than the people you just happen to meet at soccer practice.

Honestly, no we wouldn't be friends in real life. It's our age difference. I'm so sorry! I think you sound cool though!
Can we be internet pals?

Sure, you're cool. Although I am so shy in real life that I have few friends, but if you approached me, I'd be your friend.
