I just adopted a 3 year old pregnant cat. I can tell that she will have her babies any day. This morning, I let her out of her taxi (first night home) to eat. She ate like a horse and then jumped off the deck. I haven't seen her. I have called her name and looked around for her. Do you think she will come back to have her kittens? Will she most likely come back to the food when she is hungry? I am worried and scared. She is huge and birth is imminent. I don't want her to have her babies off somewhere and not come home. Even if she does, do you think she will come back for food?? Any answers and suggestions are apreciated!! I need to find her QUICK!!

For those of you who are wondering, we got tis cat YESTERDAY from a lady who lived on a farm. She had 7 cats, 4 of which were pregnant. I rescued her from a situation that was not good. I brought her home, fed her and gave her a warm place to sleep. I did not buy this cat, nor was it my fault that she is pregnant. She was like that when I got her!! I have already found homes for 4 of the kittens (assuming she has that many.) If there are others, I will keep them - not take them to a shelter!!! I love animals and want the best for them. I have never cared for a pregnant cat and want the best for her. She has always stayed outside.......I am not responsible for her being pregnant!! I thought I made that clear in my first post! I just wondered if she would come back since she has been here and knows where she can find food. As soon as I see her, I will bring her in to have her babies!

Our Cookie came back. She is heavily pregnant. I have her in the garage with a large tote lined with towels and blankets. I can't believe that she is still pregnant. Since we just adopted her, I don't know when she should be due, but it should be any day! She was hiding in the neighbor's shed that had a hole in the bottom of one side. Her previous owner said that she had 5 kittens last time, so I am thinking that she will have several babies!! I am so relieved. I will make sure that this NEVER happens again!! Thanks to all that helped.

You need to contact an animal rescue organization so that they can help you in this specific situation. Call your veteranarian to find a few. There are many many people whose mission it is to help in these types of situations. Keep calling around until you find someone.
Be prepared with the tools, food and gadgets that you will need to attrack and secure this cat when you do find her.

When you bring a new cat home, you should keep it inside theh house for at least 2 weeks so it knows its home. You should never let a newly adopted cat outside, they don't know you, they don't know your home, and it will be a complete miracle if she comes back. I'm sorry, but don't know how else to put it. She's in a very dangerous situation, she's used to the country, now she's in a city with cars and crazy people, lost, scared and pregnant. Put food on the deck and call her and try to lure her back. If you do by some miracle find her, take her in the house and keep her there. I don't care if she wants out or not, if you want her to know where her home is, if you want to make sure those kittens are okay, do not let her out again.

ok dont get too angry with this but WHY did you let a brand new adopted, heavily pregnant, not familiar, new purchased, female cat out of her taxi on the deck OUTSIDE of your home? Did you adopt it from a shelter? Cause most shelters would never adopt you a pregnant cat or one that you were going to keep soley outside. Why would you not confine the pregnant cat, and why would have let it outside when it doesnt know your home from Adam? Its was really a irresponsible thing to do, and you should be worried. She most likely ran off to find a place for the kittens, and if you cant find her or the kittens you just added to the feral cat overpopulation. Cause not only have you released a non spayed female capable of having kittens, and all the kittens that she has will produce more. I guess check abandoned buildings, sheds, barns, garages. Hopefully she will remember where the food was when she was released from the cage. I hope you find her and her kittens for all the thier sakes.

When female cats are pregnant, they sense that they will give birth pretty soon, when this happens they will run off to a comfortable place and lay there until gives birth. But another thing that would of been helpful, if the cat was by you it would easer the pain if you stroked its belly from the side, not too hard, but cats run off and find a comfortable area to give birth. It will come back soon because its new borns will get hungry and so will she.

First off I want to say I hope your Momma Kitty comes home soon. There was a stray cat in my neighborhood that I befriended I fed him and gave him water but never let him in my house...I have dogs. I found a lady that found him a nice home and a few days after she took him he was back at my door. This happened several times. So I suggest going to the last place your Kitty lived. They are so smart because the cat I was speaking of was taken miles away from here but managed to make it back to me.

Your mother cat probably ran away because she is not used to you. She just got adopted by you. How is she to know that you are not going to hurt her. If it was me i would search all around in like dark places. Under boxes, trash can any place where it would be quiet. You can try putting some food on your deck. This might be a way for her to get back but if she is almost ready to deliver then she will probably just say in one place and prepare for the arrival of her loved ones. I wish you luck

Your cat probably just went off to some solitary place to have her kittens. I would look everywhere including sheds garages and other hiding places. Once ya find her put her in a special place to have her babies if she hasn't already had them and let her be.

Having a cat of my very very own when you consider that i replaced into 2, i recognize ALL approximately this sort of stuff! My cat has had over 60 kittens in entire! What you would be able to desire to do is make her a nest out of a good sized cardboard container with a hollow decrease interior the edge that's amazingly vast so as that she gets via it no undertaking (decrease to the backside so she would not could desire to hop over something). Then conceal the backside thoroughly in rags (no longer lavatory paper or something like that!!! delicate and sturdy!) Then place her nest in a corner or in a closet, someplace secluded and darkish. place her there and make useful she starts padding around, kneading and finding like she enjoys that place. Then she would be able to bypass there herself while she is going to furnish start. i do no longer recognize approximately your dating along with your cat yet she had to be next to me, so out of outrage for the kittens, i might could desire to stay together with her for the era of her entire labour technique. Oh, and yeah, you rather need to maintain the kitten far off from her. there's a superb opportunity she would be able to attempt to kill it. The kitten could reason issues for the newborns too.
