What are your opinions on Pope Benedict XVI?

Anyway, the Pope.....He seems a little more dogmatic to me that John Paul II. However, perhaps this is just because he doesn't have as good a way with the media, or isn't as personable?

What is your view on the current pontiff?

Pope Benedict XVI is a scholar of the faith. He is the type of person that is rooted deeply into the heart of the church. He is a very wise individual with an encyclopedical knowledge of the doctrine and all there is to know about God and religions.
Personally I like him very much. I will not say that I like him best than Pope John Paul II because he is clearly a different type of person.

I think Benedict XVI is very outspoken towards things he feels are "un-Catholic" and seems to have pushed everyone away, rather than try to embrace them, as his predecessor did. Benedict's views, particularly on homosexuals and Muslims, are very harsh, and he is giving the Catholic faith a bad name because of that. True, he's doesn't have the best relations with the media and isn't as likeable as John Paul II, but John Paul II was around for nearly 30 years. You think Benedict would have learned something from him in that time as far as media relations.
