my daughter suffering from fever this is day 2 day 1 her fever shooted 40.5 then day 2 stayed 37.6 for 10 hours then shooted 39.2. i know it could be a virus but now she says when i press her throat or she is ased to tilt her head it hurts but no problem swallowing food and drink. Any idea what is this. No puss in her throat.

This could very well be meningitis! The neck pain is a tell-tale sign of it! Go to the doctor/hospital immediately, the neck pain is called "nuchal rigidity", so ask your doctor about it when you go.

Take your daughter to see the doctor. There's a chance that this may just be a throat infection, but alternatively it may be mumps which causes glands in the neck and throat to swell. Try giving your daughter something to lower her temperature such as Calpol, or use a cold cloth against her forehead and fan her. If her temperature still doesn't come down try putting her in a luke warm bath and gradually add cold water to lower the temperature of the water. But, the bottom line is still that you need to either take your daughter to the GP or if you can't get an appointment call out the emergency doctor.

Have you contacted the doctor? silly question I know.. Also has she any rashes? does she complain of joint pains anywhere?? YOU MUST SEE A DOCTOR or go to AE this may just be a bad fever but dont take the chance :) let me know how you go.
