My husband thinks that our son doesn't like him anymore. Is there anybody else that has gone through this?

This is normal and he will probably go back and forth for awhile. It's nothing to worry about. My daughter is 20 months and has a preference for her dad right now.

It happens all the time. At that age it is who they deem that they are most comfortable with at a given second. They change on that subject constantly.

Think about my poor son in law. His 22 and a half month old daughter likes Mom best, Grandpa next, me after that, her 12 year old sister fourth and then him. When I am baby sitting I make sure to exit when I can so he can try to get some time with Lexie.

The main thing is to make sure that your husband doesn't take it personally and to let him know that your son WILL get over it when he gets older or maybe even next week! Meanwhile he should try to enjoy the "free" time and be available for your son when he's ready.

Good luck. It's hard on Dads when this happens!

I went into a relationship that my girlfriend has a 16 month year old and a 3 month old. At the time we started dating, the 16 month old girl was only 12 months, and the infant was still in my girlfriends tummy. Anyways, now the 16 month year old wants me and calls me daddy. carina, my girlfriend, is a little jealous cuz she used to be a mommy's girl, but now she is a daddy's girl.

I read in a article that toddler usually want the opposite sex when young, hence 'momma boy' and 'daddy's girl' . It does wear off though. don't do anything different. your youngster will want to be around daddy soon enough to do all the dad/son bonding, just wait. I know when the 16 month year old is older, she will want mommy cuz mommy/daughter have more in common. But i know she will still love me.

Its only a phase! My 3 years old daughter did the same thing & now my 2 year old son is going through it. Just make sure baby & dad spend some quality time together -just the 2 of them.

This behaviour is perfectly normal, but if it really gets your husband down arrange special Daddy Time. Have your husband take your son on an outing just for them. It will help your husband feel more included.

Yes, my son still prefers me at 7 years old. I have to remind my husband that when he gets a little older he will prefer him and I will feel the same way that he does. I am going to be crushed.

It is just the way that it is. Boys cling to Mom and girls cling to Dad at a young age.

Soooo typical. Who takes care of boo-boos and sings him funny songs, mommy of course. It'll pass. He needs to make sure he does some fun things with him and not let a little fussing and whining about being away from mom for an hour stop him.
