I was married 2 years ago in a Catholic church. I remember taking this super long multiple choice test with my husband to see if we were compatible and to identify the issues we needed to work on. My friend is getting married next year and is going this Saturday to take that test. He asked me what kind of questions were on the test and I can't remember? Has anyone taken this test recently?? Did they ask about sex and stuff like that?? I remember them asking about finances and how we want to raise our kids.

I know it's not a "test", I took it during my engagement. I want to say thanks to the one person who took my question seriously, and to everyone else....get a life.

LOL...this is called the premarital inventory..or PMIU profile or FOCCUS( Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding & Study) which will give the couple an opportunity to reflect on their attitudes and their relationship. This isn't a test, but is an aid for the priest or deacon to use in highlighting important areas for discussion with the couple, remember this is not just a marrage between the two of them, it is a marrage contract with God, and you cannot divorce God.

They may be able to get a copy of it from here...i remember this from my wedding ...its not that bad.

It is merely a way of seeing how compatible a couple is. I don't recall the questions, except they were things like how important practiving your faith is, how you feel about money issues, whether you have goals in your life.

There is no pass or fail...it is a check for red flags...there were a couple things that came up as ' nonpreferred' answers on ours, but Father knew my family history and said I gave honest answers, so he didn't worry about it.

I am getting married in a Catholic church in June. I completed all of the requirements (pre-cana and meeting with the priest). I didn't have to do a multiple-choice test.

In pre cana (kinda like pre-marriage counseling) they gave us "lessons" about life...basically events that couples are going to go through (financial, religious, sexual, etc) and how to deal with them. Couples talked about their experiences and shared how they got through. They gave us worksheets, but they were all private. We didn't have to share our results with anyone.

Meeting with the priest was interesting. He had to meet with us separately, and asked us questions. Name and address and basics, then stuff like whether we were being forced into this union, whether we had done anything to an ex of our partner so that we could be together, whether we had been intimate with the other's father or brother/mother or sister. Also stuff like would welcome children willingly into our marriage and would we raise our children Catholic.

They ask ,about finances, children, housework. They do ask if your partner uses sex to bribe or make you do things.
