It says in the Bible, Romans 1:26-27
"For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error."
What do you the people of this era take from this? Do you believe that it is a beautiful thing to witness the 'diversity' of our people? Do we understand moral and immoral acts as they are meant to be understood? I understand these may seem to be complicated questions, yet they are begged to be asked. In short, can we say that "we know better than God and such acts are a sign of love between this man and that man. It is beautiful...". Can we honestly say this and still call ourselves Christians?
(personally I think we must accept Gods morality rather than our own...)

Its all over the Bible that homosexuality is wrong and I think we have to see it as immoral as well. The Bible strongly warns that liars, adulterers, theifs, murders, drunkards, homosexuals (called effeminates)and several others will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

I am an atheist, however, I usually try not to get involved in the back and forth debate between Christians and atheists. I don't feel the need to prove myself right and others wrong. I have many christian friends, gay friends, and friends of varying ethnicities (though I am not christian or gay). As far as this topic is concerned, the way I see it homosexuals are not harming anyone else, and it is their life and their choice. So, I am usually more concerned with topics focused on how to stop violence and hate.
I know it can be hard to tell sometimes when reading these answers, but I assure you there is no sarcasm or disrespect intended in what I am about to say. I don't understand sometimes why some Christians speak out so harshly sometimes against opinions varying from their own since it is part of their religion to "judge not least thee shall be judged." I apologize if I have made a mistake. I do not claim to have memorized the bible though I have read a great deal of it. I agree with nearly all of its morals and principles, but I do not believe in a supreme being. I try to look at every situation individually and determine what to do or think based on the moral code I have developed. Sometimes these decisions turn out to be good and sometimes not. I am human. I accept all of you the way you are, and I hope you can do the same for me. Best Wishes.

Which laws in the bible are the overiding laws and how do you know? Should I love my neighbour or should I condemn him for being homosexual. The fact that homosexuality is mentioned in the bible at all means it has been around forever and always will be. It also exists in the animal kingdom. God did not seem to give these people any freedom of choice in the matter. Then again he works in mysterious ways apparently. A little less mystery would go down well with me.

It relies upon on even if you're defining morality in basically human words, or maybe if you've faith there is an outdoors stress, more beneficial potential, or God, who makes the regulations. If there is any such being then the morals are those which that being communicates to us. in case you say you compromise for the training of a particular holy e book as being the divinely inspired words of that being, then the moral regulations and regulations exact in that e book are those to stay by ability of. If those regulations state that homosexuality is inaccurate, then for believers of that faith, that's inaccurate. in spite of the undeniable fact that, they ought to follow the regulations for "a thanks to handle human beings" both. in case you don't be counted on any particular God or more beneficial potential, then morality is a lot more beneficial versatile and also you may set it as you pick. i imagine maximum of the priority that non secular human beings have with homosexuality stem from the minority of very politically-lively gay rights campaigners who've compelled a really specific information of the priority into the media, or maybe faculties. per chance militant homophilia (if there is any such note) is an equivalent evil with homophobia!

Many, wish that God would keep up with the times. They believe that God's declared standard of morality should be buried in the past. While we stumble in the present, trying to divise our own code of conduct, apart from God. Doing what feels good to us,disreguarding the commands of our Creator.
We can not adhere to this ideology and be followers of Christ.

Morals must be formed to the objective norm of truth who is God and He has revealed this to the Holy Apostolic Catholic Church through our Lord Jesus Christ.
This Church is the one Jesus Christ built upon the rock of Saint Peter (Matt. 16:18). By giving Peter the keys of authority (Matt. 16:19), Jesus appointed Peter as the chief steward over His earthly kingdom (cf. Isaiah. 22:19-22). Jesus also charged Peter to be the source of strength for the rest of the apostles (Luke 22:32) and the earthly shepherd of Jesus' flock (John 21:15-17). Jesus further gave Peter, and the apostles and elders in union with him, the power to bind and loose in heaven what they bound and loosed on earth. (Matt. 16:19; 18:18). This teaching authority did not die with Peter and the apostles, but was transferred to future bishops through the laying on of hands (e.g., Acts 1:20; 6:6; 13:3; 8:18; 9:17; 1 Tim. 4:14; 5:22; 2 Tim. 1:6).

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Keep in mind that these people knew the truth but held it in unrighteousness, so they got a form of judgment put on them before the time. This is a punishment for doing wickedness. do right and there is no need for this punishment to be placed on U.

Gods way are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. That is the problem. Even the verses before that say that man brought God down from his high place and likened him unto an animal. Sick.

Note that the text says "For this reason god gave them up" and not "For this reason I gave them up". As you can see, this text was not written by a god, it was written by a human, about a god. I think you will agree that humans can make mistakes. Therefore, the whole text can be wrong. Do not take religious texts literally.
