There are no Greco-Roman gods, there are Greek gods that the Romans shared.

Sigh.

the mythology came from interaction with the divine, or from liars, depending on who you ask.

The behavior of these gods may give a hint. These gods seem imbued with the traits of the fallen angels that came to earth in the antediluvian world.

Wouldn't it be natural for men to remember the actions of such mighty fallen angels in this fashion?
